The QNAP TS-873AU-4G 2U rackmount NAS offers 8 2.5"/3.5" bays and a 2.5 GbE LAN controller. It features an AMD Ryzen V1500B processor (4 cores/8 threads) which is able to boost the performance of virtual machines. It is also scalable with up to 32GB of DDR4 memory and offers a PCIe 3.0 8x slot for adding functionality via an expansion card.

Powered by a quad-core AMD Ryzen 4-core/8-thread V1500B 2.2GHz processor with AES-NI encryption acceleration and up to 32GB of DDR4 RAM, the rack-mounted TS-873AU delivers smart yet aggressive performance to run resource-intensive business applications such as VDI, R&D, private cloud, and server virtualization.Move to 2.5GbE networking
The TS-873AU comes with two 2.5GbE RJ45 network ports that allow you to use existing CAT5e cables to upgrade network speeds from 1 to 2.5 Gigabit. You can also achieve 5GbE speeds using Port Aggregation. To upgrade your laptops and desktops to take advantage of high-speed networks, QNAP offers various adapters and peripherals, including a USB 3.2 Gen 1 to 5GbE adapter (model name QNA-UC5G1T) and a PCIe 5GbE expansion card (model name QXG-5G1T-111C).

The iSER (iSCSI Extensions for RDMA) protocol boosts VMware ESXi storage data transfer performance and reduces ESXi server CPU load. Support for iSER can be added to the TS-873AU by installing a QNAP PCIe 10GbE QXG-10G2SF-CX4 card that uses the Mellanox ConnectX-4 controller. iSER can provide a significant increase in performance, offering an essential tool for optimizing demanding virtualization applications.
