Heats up a lot: noise
When it's hot and the NAS is configured to be accessible via the internet (connected to MyCloud) the fan is quickly at its maximum and becomes too noisy for me. I'm going to get a more advanced model and hope it will blow less.

When it's hot and the NAS is configured to be accessible via the internet (connected to MyCloud) the fan is quickly at its maximum and becomes too noisy for me. I'm going to get a more advanced model and hope it will blow less.
For simple file backup, this NAS is perfect.
Quick and easy to set up (except for formatting the disks).
Just as easy to use.
No unnecessary frills.
Works perfectly in a "mixed" network with Windows, Linux and Apple PCs.
Allows you to share files between these three systems.
It's not said anywhere in the downloadable instructions, but the configuration interface works fine in Firefox on Linux (Archlinux and Debian) and the Gnome file browser allows access to all content (shared folders and user accounts).
Combined with 2 x 2Tb WD Red, this na is very user-friendly, both in terms of the user interface, access management and data management.
The only thing missing is the user manual. A simple sticker, postage stamp size, with a single illustration in the bag of screws. A small card with the site from which to proceed with the installation. But what if in a few years you have to reinstall the equipment? what if a software update causes a problem? how long will the site be maintained? I would have preferred a small manual and an installation CD.
The NAS does its job perfectly (with the Seagate IronWolf 6TB in my case), quite reactive despite the small latency when leaving standby mode.
