TS-451-DeU: NAS with Dual-Core Processor and 2.5 GbE LAN

The QNAP TS-451-DeU NAS offers businesses a rackmount NAS solution with 2.5 GbE connectivity to handle daily file backup/restore tasks and boost team collaboration. Transfer speeds of up to 5 Gbps can be achieved by configuring port aggregation with the two built-in 2.5 GbE ports. The shallow, compact design makes it easy to install in small media cabinets or locations with lots of cables. It supports a wide range of business and multimedia applications including file sharing and synchronisation, snapshot protection, virtual machines, cloud storage gateways, video streaming and real-time transcoding.

Upgrade to 2.5 GbE

The TS-451-DeU features two 2.5 GbE LAN ports that allow you to use existing CAT5e cables to upgrade network speeds from 1 GbE to 2.5 Gigabit. In addition, the two 2.5 GbE ports support port aggregation for up to 5 Gbps.

Dual-Core Celeron Processor

The TS-451DeU supports SATA 6 Gbps drives and features a 2.0 GHz (2.9 GHz in burst mode) Intel Celeron J4025 dual-core processor. It is equipped with 2 GB of DDR4 So-Dimm and there are two memory slots that allow for expansion up to 8 GB. With Intel AES-NI encryption engine, the TS-451DeU provides unmatched encryption performance with AES-256-bit encryption acceleration, which boosts system performance while ensuring the security of sensitive business data stored in the NAS.

Media Server and Video Transcoding

The shallow TS-451DeU can easily be placed in a media cabinet. By installing Plex Media Server from QTS App Center, you can stream media files stored on the TS-451DeU to mobile and streaming media devices (including DLNA, Roku, Amazon Fire TV and Google Chromecast). Also, the TS-451DeU includes advanced Intel UHD Graphics 600 that supports hardware decoding and real-time transcoding, allowing you to convert videos into universal file formats that can be played smoothly on multiple devices.

Increase HBS backup efficiency with 2.5GbE connectivity

Hybrid Backup Sync (HBS) consolidates backup, restore, and synchronization functions (using RTRR, Rsync, FTP, CIFS/SMB) to easily transfer data in the TS-451-DeU to local, remote, and cloud storage (including Microsoft One Drive, Google Drive, Dropbox, and more) as a complete data storage and disaster recovery plan. Supporting QuDedup technology that eliminates duplicate data at the source, HBS reduces the size of backup data and speeds up future backup jobs. This is also useful for accelerating multi-version backups for greater protection against data loss.

SSD Cache and Automatic Prioritisation

In addition to using 2.5-inch SSDs for cache acceleration, the TS-451DeU includes two M.2 SSD slots that allow you to install M.2 SATA 6Gb/s SSDs with 2280 form factors (sold separately). Combined with QNAP's SSD compatible features, the TS-451DeU maximizes performance with high cost efficiency.

    Perfect for a small Rack

    Perfect in my VDI rack. I was looking for an affordable 1U NAS and the others are really limited in hardware.
    Use NAS for home and backup for several people in my family who are self employed.
    So far with 5 users (Windows and Android), no worries.
    The basic configuration with 2G of RAM is really too little, for a VM it is 4Gb minimum.
    QNAP is selling a function that is incompatible with the basic hardware...
    The NAS accepts more than 8GB of RAM without any problem (contrary to what is indicated everywhere).
    My final configuration is: 3x 8TB HDD in Raid5 + 1x 500GB SSD for the OS + 2x8GB RAM
    The noise level is quite high (info bay in the living room), so I'm switching to Noctua.
    (It is possible to regulate the speed, but the CPU quickly gets hot when it is used).
    The configuration of the QNAP software is not very ergonomic but useful forums.
    I'm not sure how much I'm going to pay for it, but I'm not sure I'll be able to pay for it in the future.
    I'm very happy with it for the price and the rack configuration.
    The only drawback is the CPU which is a little bit too small, but it's impossible to find something better in this budget.
