Nas bought on 14 March 2018 (Synology RAM added at the time of purchase), guaranteed for 5 years and with the first signs of fatigue (heat alert) in September 2022 for which Synology support had simply told me to keep it well ventilated (it is still in an air-conditioned room and nothing had changed).
In August 2023, i.e. 5 months out of warranty: it wouldn't start unless I physically unplugged it and plugged it back in.
Synology support replied that it was apparently the memory controller that needed changing (i.e. the motherboard). Estimated cost: €1800.
What a shame for a "professional" product.
For the record, it's always plugged into an inverter and switched off properly, in an air-conditioned room.
