Equipped with a Quad-Core ARM Cortex-A55 processor, the QNAP TS-233 offers home users multiple features including snapshot-based backup, file synchronization, and private cloud services.     A bit noisy

    Fast and accurate delivery, thank you LDLC.
    The product is very good, but a little complex to set up precisely via its interface; you need to know a little about it. The manufacturer's website is very well documented, and with a little time, you can find all the advice and information you need to succeed.
    I don't know if it's the HDD or the NAS, but it's a bit noisy. And it's constantly noisy, even when not in use; there are always persistent background tasks that require work (perhaps due to my configuration).
    There is no real standby function; either it runs 24 hours a day in energy-saving mode, or you programme it to switch on/off (which is noisy, as it beeps very loudly when switching off despite the "no beep" setting).

    Living up to my expectations

    Very good product, quiet, fast, fairly well thought-out interface, with one small downside: the start-up is not very intuitive, but it does the job. The application for broadcasting multimedia on apple tv could also be improved in terms of user-friendliness, but it does the job. I haven't used a VM so I don't know what it's like in that respect.
