The StarTech.com PEX4S952LP native-supported, small footprint 4-port serial card (UART 16950) transforms one PCI Express slot into four RS232 (DB9) serial connections. Based on a native single-chip design to optimise PCI Express (PCI-E) capabilities, the card reduces the load on the computer by up to 48% compared to conventional bridge-chip serial cards. The PCI Express RS232 serial adapter card is compatible with many operating systems, including Windows 2000/XP/2003/Vista, Linux Kernel 2.6.11 and later. Featuring a low-profile/mid-height bracket; it also includes an optional full-height bracket that allows you to add four serial ports to virtually any computer (regardless of case size).
