StarTech.com's PEX2S952 PCI Express-based serial card allows you to turn a PCI Express slot into two RS-232 (DB9) serial ports. Based on a native single-chip design, this adapter card allows you to exploit the full capacity offered by PCI Express (PCIe), providing reliability, optimal speed and up to 48% less load on the CPU than conventional serial cards. It also includes an optional low-profile/half-height bracket that allows the card to be installed in virtually any computer case, making it easy to add serial ports to your PCI Express-enabled computer, regardless of the size of the computer case. It is also compatible with a wide range of operating systems, including Windows and Linux (Kernel 2.6.11 and later).
