    Ideal pci3/pcie5 compatibility

    Card purchased to mount the crucial 4to t705 gen 5 ssd on a cm azrock z390 phantom g9 whose m2 gen 3 ports have known compatibility problems with gen3/4/5 ssd. Using a pcie 3 x16 port works perfectly, obviously the ssd is limited in gen 3 performance.

    Good but perhaps too messy

    Performance was good, but the log was flooded with non-critical error warnings when the ssd was running at its nominal speed (Gen4). I couldn't tell if it was this adapter or my motherboard (asus pro art) that wouldn't handle the speed. I had free m2 ports so I opted for this solution instead and put the adapter back in its box. I'll use it if I mount a gen3 ssd one day - it would handle bridged pcie 3.0 no problem.
