StarTech.com 's PEXUSB3S44V controller card allows you to add four dedicated 5 Gb/s USB 3.0 ports to your PCI-E x4 compatible PC. The independent port architecture enhances the performance of USB 3.0 by transferring data to your computer on four independent lanes, giving you faster transfer speeds. By using four host controller chipsets, each port functions as an independent transmission path. Allocating 5 Gb/s per USB port reduces slowdowns and quadruples the total available to you, giving you up to 20 Gb/s of bandwidth.
Enhanced with UASP, this USB 3.0 controller is 70% faster than a conventional USB 3.0 port when paired with an enclosure with UASP support. Using a more efficient protocol than the traditional USB BOT, UASP optimises transfer by allowing multiple commands to be processed simultaneously, significantly increasing transfer speeds.
Up and running in no timeThis USB 3.0 PCI-E card includes an optional SATA or LP4 power connector to connect to your system's power supply to provide up to 900 mA per port for USB 3.0 bus-powered devices. The USB 3.0 card also supports USB 1.2 battery charging specifications (Apple mode only), allowing you to charge Apple devices (iPhone and iPad) faster than a standard USB 3.0 port. The controller card is USB 3.0 compliant while being backwards compatible with existing USB 2.0/1.1 devices. For added versatility, the USB 3.0 PCI-E card features a standard height bracket and includes a low-profile/half-height bracket for compact computers. |
