Online Volume Expansion
The DX517's additional bays, managed from DiskStation Manager on the host NAS, are immediately ready for use upon login. On-the-fly volume expansion ensures that storage and services are not interrupted during volume expansion.
Hot-swappable disk tray design
The DX517's hot-swappable disk trays allow for easy installation and replacement of disks without having to power down the system. The screwless disk tray design reduces system installation time.
A dedicated local backup solution
The Synology DX517 can be used as a dedicated local backup solution for the Synology DiskStation. When created as a separate volume, the DX517 provides a valuable backup solution to its local disks in case of system failure.
Extended Warranty for Synology NAS
Synology devices are built with quality components and are designed to last. This service add-on extends the original limited hardware warranty on your Synology NAS to give you extended coverage.
