The Synology DiskStation DS620slim is the most compact 6-bay personal cloud, which offers you smooth media streaming for more fun and effortless file sharing while optimizing space utilization. Small yet feature-rich, the Synology DS620slim is equipped with the award-winning operating system: Synology DiskStation Manager (DSM).
The Synology DS419slim is equipped with Intel Celeron J3355 processor, 2GB DDR3L and two Gigabit LAN controllers. In addition, the 6 2.5" disks are hot-swappable, allowing for perfect service continuity.
The DS620slim is equipped with a dual-core processor and 2 GB of memory, expandable to 6 GB. With AES-NI encryption, the model delivers sequential throughput performance of over 220MB/s read and 190MB/s write1 , even when transmitting encrypted data in a dual 1GbE link aggregation environment. The DS620slim is equipped with two USB 3.0 ports for fast data transfer and backup to external storage devices.
It offers great flexibility when creating different RAID types with HDD or SSD drives to ensure better data protection. In addition, storage performance can be improved by leveraging the SSD cache while maintaining sufficient bays for data storage.
The Synology DS620slim supports a full set of network protocols, providing a seamless file sharing experience across Windows, Mac, and Linux platforms. The integration of Windows AD and LDAP allows the DS620slim server to quickly and easily adapt to any existing network environment, without the user having to create identical accounts.

This is the perfect answer to the need for a space-saving NAS that can accommodate a large amount of hard disk space.
Without consuming as much electricity as a PC or some new internet box.
I use it as a camera recorder but also as a backup for my online drives.
Its performances are very honourable and its integrated functionalities very numerous.
I highly recommend it.
I bought it to replace my two old Ds414s at the end of their lives, and it does the job perfectly. It's quiet and discreet, and is quickly forgotten.
I've been using it for a while now, but it's a good idea to keep it up to date with the latest developments.
Glpi and many other services are no longer part of the packages that are installed automatically. It will thus be necessary to pass by docker which allows bcp more latitude for an initiate.
Remain to become initiated, of beautiful hours of training in perspective.
I've had no problems with the service department at Synology and they were very quick to respond (I'm a novice lol) perfect
Bought to replace my good "old" D S411 Slim bought in 2011 on LDLC, this DS 620 Slim is excellent.
The performance is obviously huge as expected.
I was in RAID 5 on my old NAS, I switched to RAID 6 taking advantage of the 6 drives, for more security while saving space.
I use my NAS in SMB. I synchronise my Onedrive / Google Drive files with Cloud Sync. My Nas stores my videos and archives. Hyper Backup allows me a local backup of the NAS (USB HDD connected to the NAS) and online with the C2 service of Synology.
Backup for Business allows me to back up my 2 PCs in their entirety, not for file protection purposes (because locally I only have synchronised copies), but for the purpose of restoring the system in the event of a Windows problem (update with a bug for example).
Hardware as well as software, everything is fine with me. I continue to trust Synology for I hope the next 9 years at least!
