When the storage capacity of the Synology 1U RackStation reaches its limit, the SynologyRX418 Expansion Unit offers simple capacity expansion by adding 3.5"/2.5" SATA drives to the system. The Synology RX418 can also be used as a dedicated local backup destination on Synology 1U RackStation for complete data protection.
Reliable Plug-and-Play Design
Simply connect the Synology RX418 to the corresponding Synology RackStation for easy operation. The drives connected to the Synology RX418 work as if they are internally connected to the Synology NAS and can be managed directly by Synology DiskStation Manager (DSM), without any additional software installation.
Green and Easy to Manage
Synology DSM, the award-winning operating system, provides an intuitive user interface for easy system management. Hard drive hibernation can be configured to automatically take effect when the system has been idle for a certain period of time. This not only saves power but also extends the life of the installed drives.
