The LDLC packaging is of the highest quality.
On the other hand, as usual with WESTERN DIGITAL equipment, there's always an immeasurable chance that something will go wrong when you unpack it .... This was confirmed again today .... Out of 2 disks ordered, 1 is DAMAGED !!!

Ordered several copies to renew part of the storage of a NAS server that was reaching the end of its life.
Arrived well protected by individual boxes, cushions and a sturdy cardboard box: it's great!
Removal of the old disks, installation of the new disks and a pleasant surprise: they can be screwed in with 6 screws on the underside, instead of 4 for the previous generation, so there's much less vibration, which has been proven in use.
After maintenance, everything went back to normal. 24/24 7/7 ...
A funny thing, the individual WD Red Plus has EXACTLY the same characteristics as the normal WD Red, in fact the old ones had a higher rotation speed than the 5400 rpm indicated which has been "made official" with the WD Red Plus but it's the same.
For the moment, everything is in order, silence, speed, for reliability we'll see, but I'm not too worried about this series.
As always with Western Digital, the build quality is spot on. The promised performance is there and the drive is relatively quiet.
