Moral: When your drives pull a fast one on you, LDLC plays the role of deus ex machina.
Purchase of two WD RED Plus 4Tb to replace two Seagate Ironwolf. 4 TB. The two Seagates quickly developed faulty sectors. On a NAS with 4 Seagate HDDs, as a precaution, I replaced the two faulty HDDs with the WDs.
The result of the replacement was unexpected but interesting. The NAS is much more responsive, one of the seagate HDDs was the system disk.
Access to disk info (SMART, etc.) faster on the WDs than on the seagates.
Result: The seagates were the subject of an RMA procedure and will remain in reserve. In the event of a malfunction on my other seagates, I would replace them with WDs,

I mainly use WD drives because I've never had any problems with them. The WD RED is quiet and doesn't get too hot. This is the first time I've bought a Red and I'm not disappointed. I bought it on the advice of the salesman at LDLC Claye, whom I would like to thank in passing. This team is great and always available to take the time to advise you according to your needs.
Western Red drive meets my expectations. Quick installation. Quieter than the Western Gold.
I bought a 12TB drive with 512MB cache WD120EFGX instead of the WD120EFBX model with 256MB cache, which is out of stock but of which I already have 3 copies. For a drive of the same brand with the same capacity, used in a NAS, the model with 512 MB cache is much noisier than the model with 256 MB cache, which is very disappointing and takes 3 stars off the score. On the other hand, the Synology NAS benchmark shows better read/write performance (240-250 Mb/s compared with 180-190 Mb/s).
