The ICY BOX IB-PCI215M2-HSL is an ideal solution for those looking to improve their storage performance. It offers quick and easy installation, while ensuring fast and reliable data transfers. Perfect for users looking to optimise their storage system efficiently.
Bought this mainly to add a 3rd m2 pci express port to my MSI Z370 gaming pro carbon.
Replaced my 2 x 500gb M2 Nvme & SATA SSDs with 2 x M2 NvMe in 2TB and my old 500gb samsung nvme on the said card all perfectly recognized by my motherboard.
The positive points:
- I can also use both ports at the same time.
I'm not sure if it's a good idea to use the M2 sata port on the motherboard and the nvme port on the pci express port on the cm.
Negative points:
- The 2 brackets provided (small and large) are a pain in the ass to put in, you have to place the card at an angle and then press to get the leds in.
- The system of maintenance of the dissipators with elastics in I don't know what silicone or rubber it is badly done; to see in the time
- I'm not sure if it's a good idea to use the two ports at the same time, but if it's just one, it's not a good idea to use the other.
- It's more expensive but I would recommend SSDs with a heatsink for the nvme port
I'd like to check if this type of slot exists on the layout of your motherboard.
The product is good, but you need to reserve a Sata cable to make it work.
Easily installed on an MSI B150M motherboard without M2 port and after updating the bios.
Combined with a SanDisk Extreme PRO® M.2 NVMe 3D SSD on which the old hdd was cloned.
A good upgrade for an aging PC and for a cheap price.
No French manual.
Installed without a problem but you have to take the time to look at the pictures and in particular the picture on the box is the only one really usable. I put it in an (old) 2012 Z77 Extreme4 card on the PCIE3 slot with a Samsung 970 PRO 1TB NVME. I installed a new Bios as Asrock added NVMe support in 2018. Kudos to Asrock by the way for maintaining their Bios 6 years after the release of their motherboard!!!
