A bit noisy

The product is very good, but a little complex to set up precisely via its interface; you need to know a little about it. The manufacturer's website is very well documented, and with a little time, you can find all the advice and information you need to succeed.
I don't know if it's the HDD or the NAS, but it's a bit noisy. And it's constantly noisy, even when not in use; there are always persistent background tasks that require work (perhaps due to my configuration).
There is no real standby function; either it runs 24 hours a day in energy-saving mode, or you programme it to switch on/off (which is noisy, as it beeps very loudly when switching off despite the "no beep" setting).
As a result, it does not seem well suited for use as a media server in a domestic setting. It would be better suited for use at work with specific hours, and requires a somewhat acoustically isolated location.
