NAS for everyday use and collaboration

Powered by a quad-core ARM Cortex-A55 2.0 GHz processor, 4 GB of built-in RAM, two network ports including a 2.5 Gigabit and support for two SATA 6 Gbit/s drives, the TS-216G provides reliable read/write performance to run a variety of home and business NAS applications. The TS-216G includes hardware accelerated AES-NI 256 encryption for all shared NAS volumes and folders, boosting system performance while securing sensitive data.

Centralised file management

Access NAS folders as if they were local folders: you can map your TS-216G NAS folders as a network drive on the computer and easily access them as a local drive.

Connect from anywhere via the Internet: Open a browser, connect to your TS-216G, and you can access your NAS files via File Station. You can also mount cloud storage on File Station and manage all your files from one place.

    LDLC perfect, correct product without more

    Smooth ordering and delivery at an attractive price.

    The NAS itself lacks a bit of power I find (I wanted to replace my old NAS a TS-253A).

    The CPU is at 100% all the time. I just use it for file backup (HBS3 + cloud BB2) and email (qmailagent + HybridMount cloud BB2 for backups).

    I'm trying to optimise all this by spreading the tasks out but it's not really any better. It's even a bit slow to use.

    Especially as I'm currently using a single 4TB WD RED SSD (before I was using a 3TB WD RED HDD) and some HBS3 backup jobs are crashing. I haven't found the reason yet. I started with a scratch installation to avoid any compatibility or other problems.

    So for the moment I'm a bit disappointed for a product that QNAP classifies as "mid-range".

    Very good NAS

    Very well-made NAS.
    The settings are a little complex, but that's usual for QNAP (compared to Synology), but the level of performance of this NAS is unrivalled at this price level.
