TheASUSTOR AS5402T is a powerful 2-bay NAS server featuring an Intel Quad-Core 2.0 GHz processor, 4 GB DDR4 RAM and dual 2.5 GbE network connectivity. It can accommodate 2 hard disks or SSDs (2.5"/3.5"), 4 SSDs in M.2 2280 format, 3 USB 3.1 ports and an HDMI 2.0a output. Nimbustor Gen2 offers four M.2 PCIe 3.0 slots for NVMe SSDs that support storage, caching or a mix of both. The Nimbustor Gen2 also features two 2.5 GbE LAN ports to help power the incredible random I/O performance provided by the SSDs while ensuring maximum sequential performance with SMB Multichannel enabled.
The Nimbustor 2 Gen 2 uses the Intel Jasper Lake Celeron N5105 Quad-Core CPU, making the Nimbustor 2 Gen 2 a responsive NAS that's at home in any environment. The Nimbustor 2 Gen 2 comes with 4GB of DDR4 RAM, expandable up to 8GB.
With real-time 10-bit 4K H.265 hardware decoding, the Nimbustor Gen2 plays high-definition video via LooksGood or an HDMI-compatible display without latency for an immersive digital experience.

This is a very powerful NAS. Tested with PLEX, it can decode / stream up to 3 4K video streams simultaneously. Also used to protect the home network with adguard, it holds the load and blocks all adverts. Adding an extra 4GB of Crucial RAM is no problem. I use it with 2X western digital NVME disk in raid 1 (system) and 1 hard disk of 4Tb in Raid 1. Gives complete satisfaction! Thank you LDLC for the serious service.
Not very intuitive to set up, I'm very disappointed with this NAS, which remote users can't use. Files take too long to download and in 90% of cases a disconnection prevents transfers.
I'm really pleased with this NAS, which is very fast and offers a huge range of possibilities. We'll have to wait and see, of course, but for the moment it's working wonders in my network of five PCs, including 3 gaming PCs, not to mention smartphones.
As this is my first NAS, my opinion may be subjective as I don't have the experience of the competition.
After reading a lot of reviews and tests, I chose this model for its excellent value for money.
It's got a good quad-core Intel CPU, expandable RAM, 2 HDD bays and 4 M.2 slots. All for an unbeatable price!
I use it in Raid 0 on the M.2 slots and I've set up an automatic backup on a 3.5" disk.
I recommend this NAS 100%!
