Very good
I recommend, very good product and LDLC at the top as always, conforms to the description. I would make the same choice again.

I use this NAS to store a few holiday movies and hold a virtual machine (win10) to retrieve them from my friends. It does its job perfectly. I never run out of power on the VM. Installation is easy.
The fans can be noisy but are exchangeable if they really bother you. It does kick in from time to time, especially when I'm transferring large files or playing a rather large movie on my APPLE TV. Otherwise it's dead quiet, you can only hear the discs.
The SYNOLOGY interface is rather sleek and guides you in your actions with a lot of advice in the interface.
It is not far from perfection for my case of use. You have to pay the price...
I've been using it for a while now, but it's a great service and I'm very pleased with the service. I've been to the store for a while now and it's been a great experience for me.
I've had it on endurance test 24/7 for over a month now. Everything runs perfectly well, barely noticeable noise level.
I bought this DS1621+ to replace my Linux server which is a bit old.
I'm a bit reluctant at first, so I set up an endurance test plan before transferring my data to it.
I increased the memory to 16GB (with 2 Kingston ValueRAM SO-DIMM 16GB DDR4 2666 MHz CL19 DR X8 SDRAM arrays). The NAS displays a warning, but everything works.
I'm not sure if it's a good one or not, but I'm sure it's a good one.
I'm going to be able to transfer my data and evaluate the caches now.
I'm going to add an inverter to it. :)
I use this nas for web hosting, administering my Windows Domain, and making virtual machines it is just perfect coupled with 32gb of ram.
Perfect LDLC service and speed, as usual.
Switching from a too slow DS414j to this DS1621+, it's night and day, a racing beast that makes me rediscover Synology's DSM OS, and real performance.
It's a pleasure to manage your NAS in BTRFS, to play with virtual machines, to explore the possibilities with a real server.
In short: a very nice toy - Thanks Synology (and LDLC!)
I've had several Synologies and this one (the first Synology to be equipped with an AMD processor) is really good. The AMD CPU that drives it, a Ryzen V1500B (4 cores / 8 threads at 2.2 Ghz) is very fast and makes the NAS responsive (and yet I'm not a fan of AMD at the base). It's a pity that the 10Gb is not installed as standard (like on its big brother the DS1621xs+) but the addition of a 10Gb network card is still possible thanks to the PCI express slot. I would also have liked a CPU with an integrated graphics part (like on the DS920+ for example) for the use of Plex (transcoding function using the hardware part). Apart from these two points, everything else is fine.
I bought this NAS to replace a DS1515+ that broke down a while ago, and this one has all the features that I needed. The management of the ventilation seems better, quieter.
I'll have to see if the reliability is better than my old NAS.
It is a very good NAS, very well built, powerful.
Migration from a DS918+ without any problem (Raid SHR and SSD Cache)
Why 9/10 and not 10, no 10Gbit/s (or multi-gigabit), you have to add an optional Pcie card. Only 4GB of RAM as standard.
The fans are a bit louder, but the hard drives are less audible, they vibrate less.
Also compatible with non-ECC RAM.
