Low-profile fan for AMD Ryzen CPU on socket AM4
Noctua 's NH-L9a-AM4 Chromax Black is the latest version of Noctua's popular NH-L9a low-profile fan for CPU cooling. This is the version specifically designed for SFF (Small Form Factor) or HTPC configurations with AMD Ryzen. With a height of only 37 mm, the NH-L9a is ideal for cases with a very low profile, as its small footprint ensures perfect compatibility with both RAM modules and PCIe slots and allows easy access to connections around the socket, even on compact mini-ITX motherboards. The SecuFirm2 mounting system, specifically designed for the AM4 socket, makes installation a breeze. The high-tech NF-A9x14 92mm fan, whose speed can be fully automated via PWM, also ensures that the NH-L9a-AM4 runs surprisingly quietly.
Special AMD AM4 version
The original NH-L9a for the AM2(+), AM3(+), FM1 and FM2(+) has received more than 50 awards and recommendations from the international press and specialist websites. The new version for AM4 builds on the same advanced technology features that have made it so successful to ensure the ultimate level of performance for Ryzen CPUs and APUs in a compact design.
With aslim 23mm heatsink combined with theNF-A9x14 small form factor fan , which is only 14mm thick, the NF-A9x14 offers an overall height of only 37mm, making it ideal for HTPCs and small form factor cases that leave little space for the CPU's fan.
The small footprint of the NH-L9a-AM4 perfectly meets AMD's requirements for a keep-out zone. This means that neither the fan nor the cooling unit encroaches on the RAM module slots, thus ensuring compatibility with high memory modules.
Reliability, efficiency and silence
Some AMD mini-ITX motherboards have a PCIe slot close to the CPU socket area. While larger fans that extend into this critical area prevent the PCIe slot from being used, the compact design of the NH-L9a-AM4 ensures full PCIe compatibility.
Many low-profile fans have larger fans or heatsinks for performance reasons, which encroach on the socket area. This makes it difficult or impossible to access the connectors around the socket on crowded ITX motherboards. The NH-L9a-AM4, on the other hand, allows free access to the connectors and other components around the socket due to its compact size.
The NF-A9x14 is a highly optimised premium fan with a unique Noctua AAO frame and advanced design for outstanding aerodynamic performance. PWM compatible, with fully automatable speed, the NF-A9x14 keeps the NH-L9a-AM4 surprisingly quiet.
Offering the ability to reduce the NF-A9x14 PWM's ceiling speed (1800 rpm instead of 2500 rpm), the included Low Noise Adapter (L.N.A.) allows for nearly inaudible configurations with CPUs having a TDP of less than 65W.
