The ICY BOX IB-1816M-C31 is a practical, high-performance enclosure that offers ultra-fast transfer rates of up to 10 Gbps thanks to its USB 3.1 Type C interface.
TheICY BOX IB-1817MA-C31 supports M.2 NVMe SSDs in lengths of 22 x 30 mm, 22 x 42 mm, 22 x 60 mm and 22 x 80 mm. It's almost as easy to use as it is to install any drivers. It is therefore easy to use on any computer.
The design of theIB-1817MA-C31 has been thought out for optimal cooling. It features a patented plate that transfers residual heat from the SSD directly to the case to effectively cool the SSD.
With theIB-1817MA-C31, your sensitive data on the installed M.2 SSD can be protected against any changes by a switch. This write-protection switch can be moved to the desired position with the supplied mini-tool and a simple hand movement.

At first sight functional, but contrary to what is stated in the description and the instructions for use:
- No thermal pad inside
- No system for holding the SSD on the PCB...
This is problematic.
Very good.
Small and useful documentation.
Tools (screwdriver) and 2 thermal pads are supplied.
There is a feeling of quality, neat work, and robustness.
The ALU case is cut into fins to dissipate the heat. Fortunately, because it heats up quite a bit. I think that a case with a small fan would be even better.
It allowed me to discover the world of M.2 SSDs that I didn't know. Very good, I recommend it.
This product doesn't promise the moon and isn't revolutionary but it works perfectly when you ask it what it claims to do. The included thermal pads are not strictly necessary but are appreciable, similarly the included USB cables although very short are correctly sized from a data transfer point of view and can take advantage of the 10Gb/s of the USB-C interface.
In short, no frills but very useful little extras (no tools even needed, a small screwdriver is included)
