I was looking to recycle an old 2"5 drive. This enclosure is perfect and very easy to use because you can install the drive without any tools.
However, the plastic of the enclosure is very basic and does not inspire confidence in its sturdiness. So far no problems, but it remains to be seen over time. Fortunately, a rubber band helps protect the whole thing.
At this price I consider that it fulfills its role
Following my purchase, after a minor issue with fitting the disc into the case, the problem was quickly resolved by the shop's staff. They were friendly and very professional. Well done to the team at the Bourgoin Jallieu shop.
Used for a friend's 2.5-inch 5400 RPM hard drive, which was struggling too much with Windows 11 on his laptop and works much better with an SSD. The old HDD fits well in this enclosure, and it's a good idea to provide spacers for thinner models. The silicone padding provides reassurance against potential shocks, and file transfer speeds are excellent. For example, copying a set of files several gigabytes in size often reached speeds of 100 megabytes per second on a USB 3 port on his PC.
Good value for money. Very useful, especially in the event of data loss. Recommended for private individuals.
Well, this is the box with my old hard drive inside, which is still working well, so everything's fine.
