perfect for large storage that doesn't require high transfer speed so don't play cyberpunk 2077 on it (it's possible but it's like using a potato peeler as toilet paper... it works but there you go)
It's a shame that the warranty is for 3 years and not 4... When a hard drive fails after 4 years, it still hurts.
I just hope it's an isolated case...

This hard drive is only 3 and a half years old and I'm having a lot of problems with bad sectors. In short, I'm going to have to change it and the lifespan seems to be very short (I've been luckier than some but less than others)!
I am very pleased with the quality of the product, it is very good and I will be using it again in the near future, but I am not sure how long it will last.
I bought 2 drives from the ST3000DM007 and they both failed after just over a year of use. They were making little mechanical noises while freezing the OS, then one day nothing, no access.
My PC is on almost all the time. Is this the cause? Wrong series? In any case I have older Seagate reference disks that work perfectly well.
For my next purchases I will avoid the STX000 series.
