This is the 1st time I've ordered from this site, the order was received on time, parcel in good condition. I have nothing to complain about.
The product works, it does its job. Despite the price having risen again.
But received my parcel damaged torn, no anti-shock device in the box. I hope that in time the hard drive will hold.

I tried to install this HDD on my Synology NAS. I have been using it for a while now and it is not compatible with the new drive. I was unable to get a refund in the shop despite going through the website to order it and contacting customer service.
I have to say that I'm not sure how long it will take to get my money back, but I'm not sure how long it will take to get my money back. In short, a nice scam for about 120 €. Customer service and return conditions are deplorable. I will never buy from this shop again.

I have a Synology 4-bay NAS and when my last 2TB drive went bad, I replaced it with this 4TB, thus completing the 3 others I bought previously. Immediately recognized, I launched the integration and in less than 24 hours, I found a NAS with more capacity and in great shape for several years.
I ordered a pair of these drives for my Nas, but I had to send them back (thanks to LDLC support) because one of them worked less than two hours after installation.
The quick failure may have been due to a shock during delivery, but the important point is that these drives, although advertised as being for Nas, use SMR technology, which is not suitable for all systems.
Some systems do not recognise them and others may falsely detect writing problems under heavy loads.
This is because SMR technology allows for greater data density, but requires the drive to constantly rewrite data to adjacent tracks when writing, which slows it down enormously when the cache is full and especially at critical times such as RAID parity rebuilds after a drive replacement.
WD is the most notable actor of this "oversight" in the specs, but you can find it in other manufacturers as well.
Prefer WD's red pro range or opt for Ironwolf from Seagate.
I bought two 4TB WD Red drives configured in RAID 1 with a new Synology DS220+ NAS as well.
After exactly 436 hours of use (17 days) only, the SMART report of one of the drives shows it in "Failed" status...
I would have changed both drives for the WD Red plus range (same price!), but LDLC only offers me a standard exchange on the warranty (the withdrawal period is just over...).
Too bad, I just lost all confidence in this range of disks and in this storage that is supposed to secure my data...
To be avoided!
I'm using four of these disks in a Synology 918+ NAS, it's the second one to blow up in not even two years (bought on 26/05/2020).
However, it's not like I'm having fun throwing my NAS against the walls, it's nicely placed in its corner and isn't used more than that, since there are two of us using it.
The problem is the same for both disks: bad sectors that show up for some reason.
So I'm going to try my luck at Seagate with their IronWolf, and hope that it will be better...
I bought two 4TB disks, one of them failed 20 minutes after mounting when it was not even mounted on a pool to receive data yet (maybe transport? I don't know).
I finally returned the second drive as well the next day after I realised that the storage technology of these drives was SMR and not CMR unlike most dedicated NAS drives.
This mode of storage can cause long term problems (performance and reliability) on some file systems, especially ZFS.
In the short time I have been testing my working drive it seemed to deliver on speed and is quite quiet.
Very happy with LDLC customer service who gave me a credit note to get more appropriate drives for my use.
Western Digital has failed in its duty to inform.
LDLC has failed in its duty to advise.
Western Digital, like LDLC, does not tell you that this drive uses SMR technology not compatible with NAS.
Synology has removed them from their list of compatible hardware. No return possible though.
Once purchased and unpacked, when the NAS tells you that the hardware is not compatible, it's dead for a return. The trick is done.
Very disappointed by these 2 brands on the advice and information.
I am left with the hope that it will work and last long enough. But I wanted a reliable brand of disk for a NAS... I got it all wrong. It's a pity.

I bought this drive to go in my NAS, as I had a 2TB one but as the NAS wants a blank hard drive I took this one. It works perfectly, at the beginning I was afraid that the speed of rotation was a little small and that I would have lags on certain video files but not. I have several Western Digital drives and I am satisfied with them (on the duration, SMART tests, speed), that's why I took WD, Seageate is less expensive but I prefer to pay a little more for WD.
Well packaged product, fast in writing, does the job.
It is a little bit shiny but it's a detail! (we don't sleep next to it!)

This disk came to me quickly. I use it to store data. It is placed in an external case connected by a USB cable.
I had no trouble formatting it and it works fine.

I bought these 2 Western Digital WD Red 4Tb SATA 6Gb/s drives to replace 2 2T0 drives.
The product is as expected and works normally.
Nothing else to report, easy installation.
Running 24/7 in a Synology NAS (DS418) for almost 10 months at the time of writing this review, and I have not found any problems, no bad sectors.
Fast and careful delivery.
However, out of the 4 disks I bought for my Synology NAS, only two work and the other two, apart from making strange noises and being defective, are useless...
Extremely disappointed.
I've been using this brand of drive for several months now and nothing to say about the negatives: fast reading and writing, relatively quiet (dB noise?). And with a capacity far superior to SSDs for its price.

The disk is suitable for NAS, but I find it a bit noisy when accessing the disk.
It's a good idea to have it on the shelf when you're backing up. I'm not sure how much noise it makes, but I don't really have any experience to compare it to.
I took these disks for use in a QNAP-453G-4G NAS, and no problems with mounting.
Recognized drives, RAID mount and everything works for the best.
The size is 3.64TB (in 1024 ratio) / 4TB in decimal.
I bought this drive 1 month ago in order to install it in my desktop PC, I received it within a few days and it was recognized without any problem by the BIOS and by Windows 10, I did a sector scan when I received it, no sector failed and today it still works perfectly well. I recommend this drive.

Used for years for my Nas Syno with no problems since! Fast delivery. It's a good brand in Red, it's the best for Nas. Never a broken disc in over 5 years of use.
I have just received my 2 hard drives for a synology NAS and as soon as I installed my 2 drives, one was out of order.
I found this really limiting.
I'm very pleased with the service and the quality of the product.
Three months of use, and already one out of four disks with bad sectors...
Now two possibilities: change everything with real hard drives to lose nothing (except my money), or hope that they fail one by one to change them as they go along.
At 150€ a drive when I bought them it hurts a bit.
The product is what the description describes but currently installed in a 4 bay NAS I have had several problems. I have already changed 3 out of the 4 for failed mains. 1 has already arrived and was not working. The product is not what it promises in terms of reliability. I end up with 2 failed drives at the same time with no way to change both drives and not lose my data!
I received today the 4 disks ordered for a synology NAS, and only 3 are recognized. The last one doesn't seem to work.
