Used as a spare for a 4x6TB NAS, I'm unlikely to be using it any time soon, as its RED 6TB counterparts have been running without a hitch for long enough to demonstrate the reliability of this drive.
Chosen to replace smaller capacity but identically branded drives in a backup NAS. Does the job perfectly.
I have 4 HDDs in my SYnology DS918 NAS. In 2 years, I had to change 3 of the 4 HDDs in this model!!! All of them had a failure. Very bad choice for a NAS.
The product is perfect for what I want to use it for, storing and backing up video and photos. This is the third drive of this type that I have purchased.

I replaced my defective HD with this one. Only one letter difference in the part number. Everything worked fine for the installation and the drive works.
However, I noticed that my NAS was working a lot. I contacted Synology support who sent me the information that this HDD is not compatible with my NAS (DS716+II). The SMR technology used in this HDD is apparently not compatible with Synology NAS.
Bought a Syno DS918+, all 4 drives in RAID5 failed in 1 hour with only 1 year of operation! All data lost (used at ~60%)
This brand does not have the same quality as in the past ...
I bought this drive to put in a Synology NAS. It failed after 2 and a half years of use. I think I will consider another brand...
I bought 4 identical discs.
One of the 4 was not recognized by my synology => 1st exchange by LDLC
The disk received in return is recognized but the NAS identifies an abnormally high number of defects = 2nd exchange by LDLC
The third disk received is recognized for a short time then stops working.
Conclusion => purchase of a Toshiba N300 disk and problem solved, the problem was indeed with the disks (3 bad disks out of 6 anyway)
The requirements are growing, from a Syno DS213J NAS with two 2TB WD REDs in 2013, replaced by two 4TB WD REDs in 2017, now a DS918+ with two 6TB WD REDs, accompanied by the two 2TBs from the start. The 213 remains in use. All is well...
Ordered item to increase the capacity of my 4 bay NAS.
WD items are always well packaged. The installation was quick and easy.
The hard drive works perfectly. Only the time of use will tell if the item is robust.
