Overview

Arctic Liquid Freezer III: Performance and aesthetics

With the Liquid Freezer III all-in-one CPU water cooling kit, Arctic puts all its know-how at the service of gaming thanks to an improved pump specially developed in-house and controlled by PWM. Thanks to this system, it doesn't run at full load all the time, but adjusts its operation to the temperature of the processor to limit its noise level at rest. The system is completed by high static pressure fans and another 60 mm fan near the pump in charge of cooling the motherboard's VRM circuits.

Take advantage of Arctic expertise

  • The Liquid Freezer III is ready to use thanks to its pre-installed radiator fans in push configuration.
  • The fan cables are integrated into the ducting of the hoses so that only one cable needs to be connected to the motherboard.
  • MX-6 thermal paste included
  • PWM-controlled 60 mm VRM fan provides socket area cooling when VRM cooling is insufficient, in case of poor airflow or especially in overclocking scenarios.
  • The Liquid Freezer III is equipped with a specially developed in-house PWM-controlled water pump, which has been optimised in terms of performance and noise.
  • The improved cold plate with an extended fin surface and optimised water pipes enables the Liquid Freezer III to increase its performance while maintaining silent operation.
  • The cooling surface of the 38 mm thick radiator has been extended by 23% thanks to the increased fin stack. This not only provides better heat dissipation, but also a greater volume of liquid.
  • The Liquid Freezer III is based on the P series fans, which have a high static pressure.

    280 or 240, perfectly fresh

The 240 was installed because the 280 prevented the disk bays from being used.
    It keeps the processor cool!
It's a shame I can't turn off the pretty lights, at least with my operating system (which isn't Microsoft Windows), which annoy the spiders in my garage :-)

    A hell to lay

There's nothing wrong with the cooling.
However, when it comes to installing it on a processor (AM5), you don't have to be afraid to press down like a deaf person to allow the screws to grip the thread. Honestly, the value for money is excellent, but if you're a sensitive soul about installation, prepare to break out in a cold sweat!

    Efficient and quiet

Replacing the basic fan that came with my Ryzen 5600x, the difference in sound is obvious. Extremely quiet and efficiently cooled, it never runs at full speed. No problem at all when installed in a Corsair 5000d airflow case.

    Change of cooling system

I would like to point out that this change was made because the old one showed signs of weakness.
As it was still under warranty, LDLC took the necessary steps to have it replaced originally.
Unfortunately, this model no longer exists.
I was then offered a replacement with this model, which is better and cheaper.
I would like to thank LDLC Saint Nazaire for their efficiency :)

    Opinion on the cooling system

Once again, not disappointed with the products purchased from LDLC. The hardware has no problems or faults, and the sales staff are also very good at giving advice.
The liquid cooling system is excellent, and even when running demanding games, the processor temperature is regulated optimally.

    Expertise

I am a regular customer of LDLC who have assembled 2 gamer PCs for me.
I was completely satisfied with both the choice of components and the quality of the assembly.

    Excellent cooling if tightened properly!

With no frills and the ARGB flashing with joy and good humour, the Liquid Freezer III 420 cools perfectly. The processor (Intel Core Ultra 9 285K) does not exceed 52°C even under intensive use.

Note: read the manual carefully, then read it again. Keep it handy when assembling and do as the manual says! Also, this is made-in-Germany equipment, so it's not a cut-throat affair. When you're told to tighten the screws that hold the waterblock in place, tighten them all the way, not gently.

One negative point: there's only one possible orientation for the waterblock, with the connectors at the bottom near the PCI slots. And as this isn't delicate equipment, the connectors are quite load-bearing. This can cause problems when housing motherboard coolers, for example.
