The headphones are comfortable to wear and can be adjusted to suit the size of your head, and the microphone is good. It's designed for users with medium-sized heads.
The foam headphones are comfortable and won't collect dust.
The software, which can be downloaded from the manufacturer's website, is comprehensive, with options and mini-games to train FPS players.
I bought it for my 13-year-old son and he's delighted. The sound is very good, as is the microphone. Relatively light and suitable for small heads. A good headset and the software is top notch.
Negatives: (yes, I'll start with the negative, so that's that, and it forces you to read the rest :p)
- The RGB lighting is nice, but it's a bit of a gimmick... of limited interest!
- The wired connection, even though the cables supplied (several connection options, that's a plus) are relatively long - I'm used to wireless... so it's annoying !!!
Neither negative nor positive aspects:
- The packaging is classy and well supplied.
- The packaging is super protective and doesn't damage the product!
Positive aspects:
- Connections provided and possible: 3.5 (aux) or USB.
- Cable length: great for not being stuck to the PC, but I get my arms caught in it because I'm not used to wired cables.
- Quality noise-cancelling microphone. And above all, I like the in/out aspect of the headset... it protects it well.
- Audio: highs, mids and lows are all present and accurate. I haven't played with all the settings in the PC software yet, but it's pretty effective!
- Excellent build quality. Seems very durable. Very light and comfortable to wear!
- Easy and precise adjustment. The removable and adjustable elastic band is a nice touch!
In conclusion :
A good little gamer headset (but not just that) that's great for everyday use (video, music, etc.). Fine, precise adjustments. The quality of the equipment is evident from the moment you open the box (clean, secure packaging, supplied connectors, small goodies, protection for the headphones themselves, etc.) and is clearly evident after several hours of use.
Used during long gaming sessions and found to be pain-free. The elasticated headband protects the top of the head. There's just one minor problem in the ear area, where the diameter of the foam is a little small. However, the foams are pleasant. As I wear glasses, they don't cause any pain when wearing the headphones, which is rare.
The sound is great, clear and crisp. The ambient noise reduction is perfect, so you can have a good chat during gaming sessions without being bothered by what's going on around you.
Really good value for money for this headset. A great success!
As soon as you unpack the helmet, you notice that the quality of the product is top-notch. The finish is good, and I particularly liked the removable elastic headband, which can be changed if it wears out, and protects the helmet itself. On test, the product is very easy to use, with a plug and play system that gets it up and running in a matter of seconds. Cables adapted to each platform are supplied, which is rarely the case. As for the sound, there's nothing to complain about, I didn't need to modify anything. I highly recommend this Steelseries headset.
