After a little while of use, this drive seems serious; the hub (smart or not) does its job well and allows to free up a USB port on the PC. This makes it possible to add an additional hub of 2 to 4 ports, which makes it VERY easy to manage 4 to 8 hard disks.
If the hardware is solid and reliable (see in a few years) it will be perfect.
I have already given a very positive review of this product. I have just received another one, so I really appreciate the material. I've just received another one and I really like it. No problems and as I said before, the lack of a switch and the automatic on/off is really handy.
This product works very well but I had to reformat the drive to get acceptable performance in the context of use. I am using this drive for a backup of some folders on my Synology and the NTFS format is not appropriate, it is better to reformat to Ext4.
As always fast delivery, well packaged product. I have been using it for a while now and it is a great product. I have been using it for a while and it is a great product. The design is what I like, black and sober. The only point that surprises is the absence of a stop-start switch. The only thing that surprises me is the lack of an on/off switch, but once you get over the initial surprise, it turns out to be quite practical as it goes into standby mode as soon as the equipment it is connected to is switched off and restarts when it is switched on.
This drive is perfect, its front usb plugs don't slow down its connection and the usb 3.0 ports are as fast as if you plugged another drive directly into the pc.
And according to the forums it's a real 8TB HDD inside, not like WD with integrated CM!
So it's cheaper than a Bulk HDD!
It's all in the title, very good value for money. The 2 port USB hub is really handy. Quiet, fast, if you change the supplied USB 2 cable for a USB 3 cable.
There is nothing wrong with the hardware.
The backup software could however offer more functionality and flexibility. But that's not why I bought this drive.
Easy to use, it allows me to make regular backups, without me having to do anything.
And its very large capacity is very important to me.
