Plus, you can use LaCie's USB 3.0 Driver for Mac to improve data transfer speed on Macs (up to 30% more performance than FireWire 800).

HDD perfectly in line with my expectations. The protection is well designed and seems very effective. The drive is formatted
Ex Fat at the factory, I formatted it in NTFS to comply with my TV box. See you in a few years for reliability...
Product as advertised.
Writing speed equal to that advertised.
The silicone cover does a good job of protecting the hard drive.
Delivery poorly synchronised between the shipping and delivery agency, but product received in a few days and in a well-protected parcel.
Would recommend.
Superb finish, quick to install and get to grips with.
However, LaCie's backup software is limited; I use EaseUS Todo Backup Home for much more secure incremental backups.
This LaCie external drive will be used for my one-off, daily back-ups for TIME MACHINE on MacBook AIR. 2Tb are enough for me as this MacBook Air is not my main computer...
this is the worst hard drive i have ever used. it has only worked once. it no longer connects and is not recognised by any pc.
