An ideal access point for businessesThe Cisco WAP571 Premium Wireless AC/N Dual Band Access Point leverages simultaneous dual-band radio technology to improve network coverage and user capacity. The 3 x 3 MIMO technology with 3 spatial streams allows it to optimise its performance in the 2.4 and 5 GHz frequencies. Gigabit Ethernet LAN interfaces with Power over Ethernet (PoE) support flexible installation and reduce cabling costs. Intelligent Quality of Service (QoS) management features give you the ability to prioritise bandwidth-dependent traffic for voice over IP and video applications. To provide secure guest access to visitors and other users, the WAP571 supports a captive portal and multiple authentication options. It also allows you to configure permissions, roles and bandwidth settings. A custom guest login page gives you the ability to send a welcome message to visitors and display guest access information. Configurable in minutes with an intuitive wizard, the Cisco WAP571 Dual Band Wireless AC/N Access Point is easy to install and use. It is compact and sleek, with multiple mounting options, and will fit perfectly into a small office environment. |
Single point of secure managementTo enhance the integrity and security of sensitive information, the WAP571 Access Point supports both WPA Personal and Enterprise protocols. All data passing through the wireless network is encrypted using a complex encryption algorithm. In addition,802.1X RADIUS authentication keeps unauthorised users at bay.
Designed to grow with your business needs, it is configurable from a single point and without a controller, making it easy to deploy multiple access points without additional hardware. In addition, you can extend your wireless network to be accessible to all employees and guests on your premises, while having the flexibility to meet your changing business needs over the long term. |

In addition to the POE+ power supply, this access point offers many configuration options with rock-solid reliability.
I put it in place to replace a Netgear access point that was crashing regularly.
The WAP571 access point is well built and powerful. 3x3 MIMO in 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz. Compatible with a, b, g, n and ac standards.
POE+ power supply is required (if no compatible switch is available, the POE+ injector SB-PWR-INJ2-EU will do the trick). POE+ power supply is only needed on one port, not useful for the second.
The 2 ethernet ports allow link aggregation with a compatible switch. A "static" link is required, the WAP571 does not seem to support the LACP protocol.
The WAP571 is accessible to all with the "wizard" at startup, but you need to be more expert for the fine tuning.
The device is delivered with a wall / ceiling mounting kit.
The delivery time was fast and as advertised. The box was too big for the contents, so it was a bit battered when it arrived. The contents were safe and sound.
