Performance and efficiency
When running on batteries, the Eaton 5P UPS provides a high quality sinusoidal signal, ideal for powering sensitive equipment such as servers with active PFC (power factor correction). You can extend the battery life by extending the input voltage tolerance (via the display or software) to adapt the UPS to a specific environment (e.g. generator).
User-friendly interface
The LCD display provides clear information on the status and measurements of the inverter (in 7 languages). Advanced parameterisation functions are available via the navigation keys. The 5P measures the energy consumption of the connected equipment in total. These values (in kWh) can be managed via the LCD display or Eaton's Intelligent Power Software suite. The load segmentation feature allows, during a prolonged power outage, the least necessary equipment to be switched off to reserve battery life for essential equipment. This feature is also used for remote reboot and sequential server startup. The 5P has serial (RS232) and USB communications ports, as well as a free slot for an optional card (SNMP/Web network card or dry contact card). Eaton's Intelligent Power software suite is compatible with all major operating systems, including virtualised environments such as VMware and Hyper-V.
long-life batteries with easy maintenance
The battery is managed by Eaton's ABM technology, which recharges the battery only when needed, preventing corrosion and significantly extending battery life. The batteries are hot-swappable without having to switch off the connected equipment. With an optional maintenance bypass module, you can even replace the entire UPS!
