A new generation of router

The ASUS RT-AC66U is a 5th generation WiFi router and the first platform to offer the AiCloud application. It can reach speeds of up to 1.75 Gbps, which is currently the fastest speed, thanks to its built-in Broadcom chip, which is compatible with the 802.11ac WiFi standard and operates at 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz.

The 5 GHz frequency supports a bandwidth of up to 1.3 Gb/s, which exceeds the current transmission speed of a wired Gigabit network as well as that of a WiFi 802.11n network (3 times faster). The RT-AC66U offers fast multi-streaming, avoiding slowdowns, while AiRadar technology intelligently strengthens wireless connections with powerful signal amplification for optimal performance.

The RT-AC66U router features Ai Radar technology and 3 detachable external antennas that allow it to intelligently transmit the signal to your devices without losing power by going out in all directions. This optimised signal coverage is ideal for multi-storey homes.

Two frequency bands for smooth operation
The RT-AC66U transmits in two frequency bands, 2.4GHz and 5GHz, operating at 450Mbps and 1.3Gbps respectively. The RT-N66U thus provides a total bandwidth of 1.75 Gb/s and promises a fast and stable connection. For everyday tasks such as web browsing, you can use the 2.4 GHz band, and for streaming HD data, games or applications across multiple devices, you'll use the 5 GHz frequency to avoid latency.

Connect from your smartphone, tablet or computer
With the RT-AC66U, setting up is a breeze. To browse the internet from a device, turn on the RT-AC66U, connect it to your network and open a browser on your WiFi device. You will be redirected to a dedicated settings page and, after entering the username and password given by your service provider, you will be free to browse the internet! It's as easy as pie!

Connect in just 30 seconds
The RT-AC66U router has an intelligent auto-sensing system that allows you to set it up in just 30 seconds. As a change from the sometimes time-consuming and complicated setups of some other routers, ASUS has developed a system that is extremely easy to use and capable of very fast network connection performance.

Two built-in multi-functional USB ports
In addition to its connectivity to wireless devices, FTP, SAMBA and UPnP AV servers, and DLNA support, the RT-AC66U has 2 built-in USB ports that will allow you to download HTTP, FTP or P2P files to a USB storage device connected to the router without having to use a computer. Also, the 2 USB ports allow simultaneous connection of a network printer and file server for multitasking.

Downloads and streaming
DLNA allows you to download and play media files stored on a USB storage device connected to the router on a DLNA-compatible device(computer, tablet, PS3, Xbox and internet TV). Download Master can download files while the computer is turned off, and gives you the ability to manage and control your downloads remotely.

Access management for added security
The RT-AC66U supports 3 wireless networks on its 2.4GHz frequency and 3 on its 5GHz frequency. Thus, the RT-AC66U can protect your computer from unauthorised access, hackers and viruses. The parental control function will prevent your children from accessing prohibited websites and limit their connection time.
