Powered by the Synology Router Manager (SRM) operating system, the RT6600ax and other Synology routers have the same level of security and reliability as NAS/SAN systems.

• Create up to 5 separate networks to group and separate devices according to their role and purpose, and map up to 15 wireless SSIDs2 to each network
• Define individual networks and the devices connected to them using (independent or network-wide) sets of rules for firewall, access policies, traffic control, parental controls, web filtering, etc.

The RT6600ax includes powerful VPN Server features to allow you to access your network remotely, easily but securely. Synology's free VPN Plus solution includes comprehensive connectivity options to meet different needs.

• Synology SSL VPN is a high-performance option that leverages dedicated clients for PC, Mac, and mobile platforms. It supports any protocol, including file access via SMB, iSCSI, Windows RDP, SSH, and more.
• WebVPN is a simple clientless option that allows access to internal websites directly from the browser.
• Remote Desktop provides easy access to Windows, macOS, and RDP or VNC enabled devices on your network, remotely and directly through your browser.
• Site-to-site VPN links remote sites together for easy collaboration without requiring each client device to establish its own VPN connections.
• Set permissions for each user or connect to an existing Active Directory or LDAP directory services to simplify deployment and configuration.

Access Control and Web Filtering

SRM offers powerful access and content administration features that allow parents or network administrators to set clear access rules and define what content is allowed or blocked.

• Access and web filters can be defined as profiles that can be applied to all devices by default or only to specific devices.
• Define browsing schedules and maximum daily Internet access time that can be configured for each individual user and for each day of the week.
• Configure web filters for 18 common website categories for each user profile and optionally add separate permission or block lists. Web filtering can also be enabled on a scheduled basis.
• Set up secure search filters for each profile with built-in support for YouTube, Google and Bing.
• Enable automatic blocking of known malicious traffic across the network using a constantly updated DNS/IP threat intelligence database.
• Track the browsing habits of different user profiles to analyse network usage or protect your environment and your children.
