EVA Foam Spacer Kit for Low Profile Fan
The NA-FD1 fan duct kit significantly improves the performance of Noctua's NH-L9i and NH-L9a series CPU fans in Smal Form Factor (SFF) environments. In such configurations there are gaps of 5 mm or more (up to 45 mm) between the fan and the perforated side or top panel of the case. Filling this gap creates a duct that prevents the fan from drawing in hot air from inside the case. By drawing in cool air through the perforations in the case, and depending on the configuration, it is possible to improve the temperature of the CPU by up to 5°C or more. As the trunking is made up of EVA foam spacers of different thicknesses, it is fully adjustable and can be made from 5mm to 45mm thick in 1mm increments to suit many different cases and configurations. In short, the NA-FD1 is a simple and inexpensive, yet very smart and flexible accessory that provides an efficiency boost for the NH-L9 series fans!
Increased performance
In compact environments (ITX-based SFF systems), hot air can accumulate at the socket. With the NA-FD1, the NH-L9 draws in cool air instead of hot air from inside the case and this offers a huge performance gain that can offer a temperature drop of 5°C and more.By providing 7 foam spacers (10 to 3 mm thick), the NA-FD1 allows a total thickness of 5 mm to 45 mm (1 mm increments). This makes it ideal for bridging the gap between the NH-L9 (which is 37 mm high) and the side or top perforated panel which offers a gap of 42 to 82 mm such as the well-known Dan A4-SFX (48 mm) or the Louqe Ghost S1 (66 mm).
