K70: a digital SLR camera for all situations
The Pentax K70 digital SLR camera is a model with a tropicalised body that is resistant to dust, weather and cold. Equipped with a 24 megapixel CMOS sensor, it will allow you to take quality photos in all situations. It features a 3.2" LCD screen, a pentaprism viewfinder and a LiveView system. The K70 is easy to handle and compact enough to take on the go. This model offers a range of features that are perfect for taking the most breathtaking shots.
It comes with three lenses to meet your every need. The compact DA 18-50mm DC WR RE offers a practical solution that's perfect for tough environments. This standard zoom features a DC motor, HD and Super Protect coating and Quick-Shift Focus for manual focusing. The DA 50-200mm f/4-5.6 ED WR telephoto zoom lens will cover a wide focal length range to capture every moment in the best possible way. Finally, the Pentax DA 50mm f/1.8 smc lens has a large aperture and, for portrait shots, a circular diaphragm to achieve remarkable Bokeh effects (background blur). This will delight amateurs as well as demanding photographers!
24 megapixel CMOS sensor
The Pentax K-70 has no low-pass filter, which reduces the recordable resolution of the camera. This means you can take full advantage of the 24.24 effective megapixels of the APS-C format CMOS sensor, while ensuring fast readout of 14-bit image data for subtle gradations.
This digital camera uses a new accelerator unit, designed to optimise the innovative digital noise processing algorithm. In combination with the PRIME MII processor, it reduces noise to a minimum, even when shooting at ISO 102400 (standard sensitivity). This package not only improves image quality under everyday conditions, but also provides superb, detailed images at the highest sensitivities by reducing digital noise.
Excellent ergonomics
The K70's new grip makes it easy and simple to use your camera even when wearing gloves. The grip is excellent and is accompanied by convenient buttons and a control dial.
The directional pad has been contoured for easy fingertip control. This makes it possible to operate in all situations, even when wearing gloves. Finally, the height of the thumbwheel has been designed to provide ideal comfort for users.
Adjustable LCD screen
Explore your creativity with the help of the 3.2" LCD screen with 921,000 pixels. A swivel model that can be placed in any position. Ideal for creating original frames and taking unique photos. The screen is equipped with a hybrid autofocus system that combines the high precision of contrast detection AF with the responsiveness of the sensor's built-in phase correlation system. This gives you fast and accurate focusing.
The display is designed for outdoor use with instantly adjustable brightness. It also incorporates areddish display function, which allows the photographer's pupils to remain open when they have adapted to a dark environment.
Pixel Shift Resolution System
The stabilisation system allows four images of the same scene to be captured by shifting the sensor by one pixel at each step and merging them into a single image. By obtaining all the colour information for each pixel, it provides very high resolution images, with more accurate colour and finer detail than images obtained by conventional processes.
The difference in resolution is evident even without zooming in on the screen or making a large print. With the new motion correction function, the system detects a moving object from one image to another and reduces the effects when merging. Images can be saved as RAW files.
Tropicalized body
The K-70 has 100 seals throughout the body, including the LCD screen, to prevent water and dust from entering. The PENTAX SP coating prevents dust from settling on the surface. If particles do get caught, the exclusive PENTAX DR (Dust Removal) system vibrates the sensor at high frequency to remove them, ensuring dust-free images.
The PENTAX K-70 has undergone rigorous environmental testing in temperatures as low as -10°C. This model will continue to be reliable, fast and accurate both mechanically and electronically, as well as over limited variations in battery voltage, even in freezing temperatures.
