Minimalist instructions but quality and speed are there.
The software supplied meets the needs well. The PDF "text" scan is a real plus (it's true that I was stuck with the prehistoric versions of desktop scanners, others may do it too).
I didn't give it a top rating because I think it lacks something that would have been very practical: a dedicated carrying case.
My first opinion was very positive. After two years and the use of about 400 carefully scanned sheets, the equipment makes a black band of 4 cm on each side. I had no problem with cleaning, it was a breakdown and then the problems started. The joys of buying on the internet come into play. You have to call the manufacturer on a PAID number, wait and wait with a music not unpleasant fortunately. The manufacturer asks me to contact a maintenance company and again I have to wait for 15 minutes with this company which finally asks me to call the manufacturer again because of a problem with my extended warranty that I had taken when I bought it. So I call Epson again and they send me back to the maintenance company, and again we wait and wait. Finally it seems that I have to send the equipment back by post to Renne or Ivry (the answer is not clear). I fear the worst once I have made my parcel!
In short, think about it before you buy.
This scanner for its first weeks of use seems perfect. It is fast, has excellent scan quality (B&W and colour) even in medium resolution. We use it to scan course sheets and it does a good job of unbinding them, a little monitoring is still necessary but that's completely normal considering the type of sheets that are not perfect. The WiFI works without any visible slowdown, the classic USB connection also works well. In short, we are delighted with this scanner. I'm not sure if it's a good value for money, but I'm sure it's a good value for money. I'm very pleased with the quality of the product and the service.
