PDFs can be searched, either in the background with ScanSnap Organizer or directly when scanning.

Quick Menu ModeScanSnap S1300i has a Quick Menu mode. Simply place the documents in the input feeder and press the S1300i's button. All pages are scanned and the Quick Menu is presented to the user who can then easily direct the created PDF file to ScanSnap Organizer, email recipients, folders or printers.

The scanner is slow, it makes noise, beyond 5 sheets it panics.
It's not a bad product in itself, just not made for professional use.
I'm not sure I'll be able to get my money back from LDLC because I'm missing part of the original box, but I have the new scanner and all the cables and manuals... Last time I buy from you, shame...! Many of your competitors don't care about the cardboard packaging, only about the product
It took me longer than expected to get started (the help was not very well organised). This is the only downside.
But scanning is very fast.
No jamming for the moment except sometimes when more than 10 sheets
Note that the scanner requires a fairly powerful computer according to the guide, which was not written in the description:
i5 2.5 GHz processor minimum
4 GB of memory
Possibility of a less powerful configuration at the cost of reduced speed.
