The device meets my expectations. It works. The arrangement of sockets at the back and indicators on the front seems more practical than the one where the indicators and sockets are on the same side. I'm very pleased with the quality of the product.
So no surprise, it's plug & play.
I took it to complete my wired installation in star in part in giga bit with the small brother of this one (GS205) (bought here too) and to replace a 10/100 switch.
Since I switched to fibre it's still better to have gigabit everywhere.

I was hesitating between the metal and the plastic version, I opted for the latter because the LEDs are on the front and the cables on the back, perfect to put under my desk and control what is active and at what speed, whereas the metal case has the LEDs on the RJ45 side, which makes things more complicated.
Low power consumption, does not heat up.
I bought this switch for my raspberry pis, the console and the home cinema.
It's been quiet, economical, and doesn't get hot for months, no problem. I have hidden it behind the TV, so the little light doesn't bother me ... otherwise, a little piece of cardboard and tape, the same no need. transfer time reasonable for the range, all is well.
Going from an old 100mbps hub to a gigabit, you can see the difference between the two and the transfer of large files is no longer counted in hours but in minutes, which is exactly what is required.
Convenient for SOHO use (all sockets, Ethernet and power, are on the back), low power consumption and heat (barely warmed up), decent build quality (it's plastic, but solid), doesn't introduce any network issues.
In short, it does the job expected of a non-manageable switch: you plug it in, and you can totally forget about it.

After 1 month of use I have not encountered any problems.
I have had several problems with other brands of equipment and I can confirm that Netgear keeps its promises.
Simple, efficient, silent, does not heat up, low price...in short it does its job and is forgotten .... What more could you ask for for this type of equipment!
