With the Define XL R2, Fractal Design continues to set new standards in gaming reference cases. The Define XL R2 is the first of its kind in the world to feature a range of improvements over its predecessor, with the sole aim of delivering an exceptional case at a very reasonable price.
Full Tower Case Black/Black
A design as discreet as it is silentThe Define XL R2 is Fractal Design's latest PC case. It combines a striking Scandinavian and minimalist design with excellent configurability, functionality and sound insulation. The Define 's side panels and front door are fitted with dense sound insulation materials, making it a true benchmark in noise reduction. In addition, the Define XL R2 can accommodate up to 8 HDDs in fully removable cages, all current graphics cards, as well as multiple ventilation solutions - including 3 Silent Series R2 hydraulic bearing fans as standard, it will keep your components in the best possible condition. For added functionality, the Define XL R2 has USB 3.0 connectors on the front and a 3-speed fan controller behind the front door. |
Design down to the last detailThe Define XL R2 features high-density sound insulation materials for quieter operation and optimum noise reduction. The side panels and their asphalt interior also absorb vibrations and allow powerful PC designs without worrying about component noise. Patented ModuVent gives the user the choice between complete silence and regulated airflow. This advanced technology makes it easy to manage cooling performance according to the user's needs. In addition, a fan controller, managing up to 3 fans, is strategically integrated behind the front panel door. Three Silent Series R2 fans are included, their hydraulic bearing system offers superior life expectancy. With 4 additional fan slots, you are assured of building a very advanced configuration with multiple graphics cards. |
Space, modularity and flexibilityThe Define XL R2 is a more than complete case with support for XL-ATX, E-ATX, ATX, Micro ATX and Mini ITX motherboards, 2 removable 4-slot hard drive cages, 9 PCI expansion slots, low-profile power supply mounting, 7 fan slots(3 included), cable management space and 4 5.25" front bays. Everything has been thought out to facilitate the integration of components and the maintenance of the system. The upper HDD cage (4 trays in total) can be rotated 90 degrees and removed for better air circulation or to accommodate a graphics card measuring up to 480 mm. The chassis of the case is wider and allows for optimal cable management - this space is 26mm. For watercooling, a 280mm or 240mm slimline heatsink can be installed when the HDD cages are repositioned. |

It's very big, it's very heavy (it's not just some kid's little sheet metal), it's very sober (black, no frills, I like it), it's very big: it's very good.
Excellent value for money
I recommend this great box for all office users and especially for gamers.
It's a great value for money and can be used for all office users and especially for gamers, as it can be used for several things, including a DVD burner which is rare nowadays.
Very quiet and very practical to use
Everything is in the title, the case is top, solid, in metal, well soundproofed, spacious, modular.
But it is very heavy, difficult to carry (especially to take to the SAV when the CM doesn't boot anymore), no handles to hold it.
A tower without plexiglass, with pre-installed fans, top notch insulation and a weight that says a lot about the quality of the beast... I recommend
The materials are of good quality, the walls are thick, well cut, and well insulated. Everything has been well thought out, except maybe the "front" connectors repositioned on top: I'm not a fan, but well, both positions have their advantages & disadvantages...
There are three pre-installed fans, whose speed can be chosen via a three-position switch located to the right of the 5"1/4 bay inlets. You can hear them at maximum speed, but that seems to me quite bearable.
Those who, like me, don't like the "Jacky Touch" towers will be pleased with this one, which is very sober and discreet.
