I've been using them for about 1 year now, and they're very good in terms of audio quality and microphone, but the comfort of the headband is still mediocre.
I've tried a number of headset microphones, but the Astro A50 WIRELESS is without hesitation one of the best on the market, the sound quality is simply incomparable, it stays charged for a very long time and it's very light on the head, I just advise not to put too much strain on the arms because the screws tend to go out with time, but otherwise it's clearly worth it!
I wanted to have a clear setup with a minimum of wired peripherals, with this headset and its base station I had what I wanted..., except that at this price the headset is fragile and you get the impression of having very cheap equipment. A huge negative point after 1 year the headset is broken but still usable, on the other hand the sound quality and microphone are top notch.
After two years and 8 months of use, the headphones sound fine, but the plastic is disintegrating and above all the headphones no longer work. What a shame for a headphone costing more than 300 euros. I kept my Logitech headphones for 49.90€ for 10 years !!!!! A disgrace for this brand.
Hello, I'd like to explain this title.
The sound is really good, good bass and many settings,
But far too many problems for this price:
- The headphones go out of sync with the base, which prevents them from being used.
- You can't recharge it without the base (micro usb cable not supplied)
- You don't need a big head as the top foam can be detached.
- Really poor microphone compared to the much cheaper Corsair
However, the cushions are loveable and the sound is either via Auxiliary or fibre optics.
So for the price I think there's better but it does the job.
A little present for my husband, who's delighted! The sound is insane. I didn't really exist before, but now I'm almost invisible. I guess that means the headphones have great noise reduction x)
Simple installation, software and drivers directly and only from the Microsoft Store. I'm not a fan of the Microsoft Store, a bit old fashioned on that side I prefer to have an old fashioned executable. But it works, no worries.
The headset itself looks solid, well built and very comfortable. I love the fabric type pads, more durable over time than a leatherette that will quickly crumble over time.
The headset can be used straight out of the box without any special configuration. The sound is quite neutral, but not unpleasant. A passage by the equalizer of the software will know to return all that more flattering. A very important aspect that is not specified in the manual is that virtualisation must be activated in the headset's Windows sound settings and the headset's Dolby must be deactivated (to be activated for use on PS4/5). Dolby on Windows will flatten the sound balance, and therefore lose the virtualisation.
The battery life is good, nothing to say. I didn't push it to the point of running out of power, but in my use, which can last up to 7 hours, I've used up half the battery at most.
Is it worth the price? It's very expensive for me, but if it holds up over time I'll be able to say if I still have it in 5 years (at least) that it will have been worth its 350€ price. After all the rest it's a big yes. The sound and functionality are top notch.
Silk on the ears, great sound, microphone too (I only had to add a windscreen in the summer because of my fan), the charging stand is great, every time you pick it up it's at 100% battery (unless it hasn't had time to charge but that's another story).
So nothing to complain about everything works perfectly after I'm not a great music lover but for what I use it suits me 100%!
Now we just have to see what it will be worth over time, hoping it will last more than two years ??
Very good headphones with a good autonomy and a really top ergonomics. The only downside for me is the placement of the headset on the base which is not really well thought out so that the plugs are well positioned for charging.
The headphones themselves are amazing, the sound is great and so on and so forth.
The problem is in the software that goes with it which is an unparalleled pain in the ass to operate (note that personally only the software from the microsoft store works).
The headset works perfectly then suddenly a maj that refuses to install or that takes 2 hours because you have to make 50 attempts before it finally succeeds and no way to have sound because when installing a maj the headset goes into "startup" mode which makes it unusable until the end of the installation of the maj which can be a pain.
I had taken the astro A50 to replace my broken steel series arctiss pro after 3 years of use and I regret it very much I should have taken an arctiss pro.
I strongly advise against this purchase once again, not because of the headset itself but because of the pain it causes.
Perfect sound quality! The comfort is great, I wear it all day and frankly I don't feel it at all! The only thing to complain about is that the headset and its options are a bit complicated to get used to, but once you understand it, everything works! I'm very pleased with the quality of the helmet and the service.
I bought this headset because I have had one for a few years (a50 halo edition).
The sound is perfect, you just have to adjust it correctly on the software via a computer.
The bass if you want it is very present, even better than bose or beat.
The perfect setting for games is quite complex in itself, I advise people to go on youtube to set up the headset properly.
I play mostly on PS4 pro at Fps in general (R6). The sound should be set in the PS4 options to 5.1 via optical output. Then you have to put voice chat and A50 astro input.
In the game you should put the "night" option, it's much more pleasant.
The price is high, but the quality is there.
I've been using it for a while now, but it's a good idea to check it out and see if it's working.
