Best Air Cooling ?
The DRP4 is an excellent CPU cooler: powerful, affordable and quiet. It's easy to install and has an attractive design.

After adjusting the ventilation curves for the CPU and the front fans that bring in fresh air, this product is perfect and regulates the temperature silently.
What's more, it comes with 2 clips for mounting a 3rd 120 mm fan (which I did).
The result is that in my BeQuiet! Dark Base Pro 901 case, the ventilation is ideal and helps the CPU to cool down.
My i7 13700k processor brings this product to its knees and tops out at 100°C under cpu-z.
And no, I'm not on overcloc.
Disappointed
Perfect and effective for cooling a processor such as the INTEL CORE I7-13700KF, which is known to heat up a lot.
Installed on a 10700k, the dark rock pro 4 works perfectly: it keeps the processor at a low temperature under load while remaining silent with the high-speed fans (70°C max at full load). Its only constraint is that it makes it impossible to install/uninstall Ram by blocking the slots.
I suspected everything on my pc before realising that all my problems came from a liquid cooling system that was probably faulty, an icue that blew like an aeroplane, clearly this block would cool a burning ember! now I can't hear my pc at all, incredible.
Linked to my 3700X, it does the job completely. It's a bit complicated to set up, especially if you want to fit both fans. I think the new Dark Rock Pro 5 model will be more practical in this respect.
Frankly, Be Quiet has created an imposing and silent behemoth, because yes, it's pretty impressive and you'd better make sure you have enough space in the case to accommodate it (be careful about the height of the Ram bars too). Very quiet, even during intense gaming sessions, the processor is always cool!
I have nothing to say, so far it works perfectly and the design is nice.
It cools well.
I had version 3 on my old configuration, and it was an excellent product.
The only changes were two holes for the screwdriver and support for recent sockets.
The new one is a bit noisier (in the living room it doesn't bother).
I would have appreciated a kit to upgrade my old one rather than reinvesting in a ventirad.
Hello,
I'm missing the pin/clamp for attaching the second fan, which I couldn't find in the box. It's the only thing missing from my ventirad. I don't know who to contact or if there's a customer service department, but I'd like to report this oversight and have them send me the rod I'm supposed to have, please.
Thank you for taking my case into consideration.
Hello, ventirad bought to replace a watercooling Enermax aquafusion defectieux. The product being fragile (Pump hs). I wanted to go back to the big traditional ventirad. Mounted on I9, it does its job well and is quieter than the old Enermax aquafusion, I remove a star for the price of the ventirad that I find a little exaggerated.
Imposing but just silent.
Config SSD plus 3 case fans, not a sound.
In love with this brand
Quite an imposing fan. Quiet even under load and does the job.
Prefer low-profile RAM bars.
It's much more practical to attach the 2nd fan before reassembling the motherboard (one of the fans is already fitted).
There are 2 sizes of rods for attaching the fan
As indicated in the manual, it is necessary to remove the motherboard before fitting.
A small tube of thermal paste and a large screwdriver are supplied with the fan as indicated in the manual.
The fan is quite large. It's a good idea to use ram strips that aren't too bulky.
In normal use, or with not too much demand on the processor, there's nothing to report - it's silent.
After that, when the processor is under full load, it becomes noisy.
Under cyberpunk it completely forgets its quiet side, and has trouble keeping the processor under 80c° without making a turbine noise.
I miss the AIO of my previous processor.
Delivery: perfect (as usual!)
Disassembled baby, almost all parts still working .... (the motherboard was starting to fail) ... I opted for this configuration which may not be the best of the best, but which suits me perfectly for studio work ... and with a good reorganization of my case I went from a consumption in idle of 230W to a consumption of 83W ... but when you work on Premiere Pro it is really worthwhile to rely on NVMe in PCIe 4.0 Gen4 .... it's a bit more powerful than SSD in SATA 3 ... I'm very happy with the service and the quality of the product.
I bought a watercooling kit saying to myself that in 10 years there had surely been progress, big disappointment the noise of the pump being unpleasant. I said to myself if I want silence then I might as well take a ventirad that can handle heavy loads so that the fans will run at a minimum. So yes it is HUGE but the silence is there and it does its job very well.
Bequiet quality for a greedy and hot processor... Well, that was getting hot! With this fan, my Ryzen 7 5800x3d processor does not exceed 61 degrees in doom eternal with all options at max! It does not hear itself! At most, in poorly optimized games, I hear a slight hiss but it is not disturbing. It's almost soothing (thanks to the low speed fins).
Of course it takes up a lot of space in the case, but it looks good and has to do its job well: cooling a greedy processor. Go for it with confidence! And a little tip: use Grizzly Kryonaut thermal paste for perfect cooling.
Quiet and not aggressive compared to previous fan. Just takes up a lot of space in the CPU
Excellent product, no surprises. Do not hesitate to program a personalized fan curve, the fans being inaudible at 50% of the maximum speed.
I am always satisfied with the products selected by LDLC, they are reliable.
I'm very pleased with the quality of the products and the speed of delivery.
Ulysse.
Nice and efficient fan. It is very large and therefore has a good thermal mass (which means that the fan can stay on low speed during short CPU accelerations).
However, I didn't plan it very well and I can only put the central fan on if I want to have RAM, lol. But for now, no problem and it's very quiet!
It's quiet, it works very well. I do 3d animation, so obviously it's a bit of a strain on the processor. It had to be cooled. I don't regret my choice.
The fan is very good and very big, easy to mount, but please pay attention to the height of the case. Otherwise, the kit is perfect, complete with the quiet screwdriver which is used for everything. Very good advice from the team at the shop in Chambéry. I've been using it for a while now, but it's a good idea to check it out and see if it's working properly. I recommend the fan and ldlc and long live the team in Chambéry
One of the best value ventirades on the market, no noise (combined with quiet PC case),
No cooling problems with boosted performance for 3D modelling, its reputation as the 2nd best fridge of the moment is well deserved.
The product is in line with my expectations, the quality of the product, the technical information and the products obtained before ordering.
As stated in the title:
(+) In terms of cooling / noise ratio it's all good. Installed in place of the AMD fan (on a Ryzen 5 3600) it is really quiet and the CPU stays cool even in the tropics in summer.
On the other hand, there are several major drawbacks in my opinion:
(-) the installation is not really practical if you don't want to take the CM out of the case (yes, it is specified in the manual that it is better to take the CM out etc.)
* I'm not sure if it's a good idea to use the same method as the one used for the other, but it's a good idea to use the same method as the one used for the other, because it's a good idea to use the same method as the one used for the other.
* I'm not sure if it's a good idea to use the same system as the one used for the other, but I'm sure it's a good idea to use the same system as the one used for the other, and I'm sure it's a good idea to use the same system as the other.
Another big problem is that once in place, don't expect to change a RAM strip or even your M2 SSD without having to disassemble the block again (and therefore thermal paste etc...)!
I have a CM MSI A Pro x570 (ATX) : this block covers the 4 RAM slots as well as the M2 slot n°1
I have a MSI A Pro x570 (ATX): this block covers the 4 RAM slots as well as the M2 slot n°1. In short, I put my hands in my PC from time to time and I'm not sure I'll take back such a big and awkward block... I kept the original AMD model just in case which did the job without blocking access to any component...
This fan is really big. I installed it on the motherboard and then put the motherboard in place but had to remove it because the size of the fan unit prevented me from fitting the CPU power connectors.
I had taken the trouble to install the Ram strips before but it is not essential.
When I started up the system I was amazed by the silence! The 2 fans are inaudible.
The radiator is very efficient and quiet.
The assembly is easy because the instructions are clear and the parts are already sorted in plastic bags.
Excellent ventirad, so quiet around me.
Efficient cooling.
Please note that this cooler is not compatible with the TILTeek FixCard bracket, the fan rubs on the vertical pole.
It's all in the title: efficiency-wise, nothing to say. It's great, temperatures are maintained at 30/35 at rest and don't break records in game (Ryzen 5). On the other hand, it's a real monster: very high, very big, it's to be reserved for big cases and editors who aren't afraid of the cold, even if it's still within everyone's reach: you have to be careful not to do anything stupid.
I didn't want to take an AIO because I was afraid of the noise of the pump, or that the pump would fail prematurely, as it sometimes happens. I don't regret my choice overall, but something this huge limits my room to manoeuvre inside the case if I ever want to change anything. It's not impossible that I'll end up getting an AIO one day (especially for my use), but for now it's a good investment.
I had an i7-8700k which I replaced with an i9-9900K purchased from Ldlc. Everything is perfect, except that the new beast is getting very hot. I was reaching 100 degrees and my old Enermax ventirad was making a 747 noise on take off (despite the fact that I have a very well made BeQuiet Dark Base case).
So I replaced the ventirad with the Dark Rock Pro 4 and...for the moment it's great !
It heats much less and it's so quiet that I sometimes wonder if the fans are running.
The assembly was quite easy when you are used to fiddling with your computers. In short, I warmly recommend it (if I may say so ;-)
Relatively easy to install: you just have to look at the manual to see what type of processor it will be mounted on, then choose the corresponding bag of screws and brackets. The big plus (and even the very good surprise) concerns the screwdriver with a magnetic tip delivered with the heatsink (I used it to mount the whole computer). Beware of small cases, the heatsink is bulky and is likely to be impossible to mount or to prevent the mounting of other components such as fans or the side cover of the case. I mounted it on an AMD Ryzen 7 5800X Gigabyte B550M DS3H PC Upgrade Kit motherboard and in an Enermax Skalene ECA3331B-BT(U3) case, and it just about fits. In terms of dissipation it does the job, however I can feel on a game like Horizon Zero Dawn set to its maximum capacity that the PC case gets hot. The heatsink, although hot, is far from being hot when I put my hand on it.
Overall quality very good, easy to assemble, several assembly kits are provided.
Very quiet fan, even at full power.
Beware however of the relatively fragile black finish, as well as the fins which are quite thin, precautionary measures to be taken when assembling the fans in particular.
good product easy to install
a bit bulky, think to take a big enough box.
The quality of the BE QUIET material is really TOPISSIM!!! It's a bit bulky, but it fits very well when you have a Big Tower. A good alternative to liquid cooling.
switch from an i7-960k OVC 4.2 since 2011 cooled by Noctua
to an i5-5600k OVC 4675 6 cores stable on X470 with RAM 3600
85° under load 99% over 48 h handbrake encoding
no watercooling, but big tower with good ventilation (3 x 140 exhaust and 3x 140 input fans)
easy installation, better than the Noctua, more solid, better finished, nicer looking, cheaper pill
great screwdriver included
great all the extras : different brackets kits, packaging etc...
High quality, quiet fan. Very easy to assemble with very detailed instructions.
The weight of the motherboard can be a bit scary, however.
Bought to put on a Ryzen 5 5600X (65W TDP), I set the profile to "Silent" on my motherboard (from the BIOS, Asus Prime B550-Plus), the case is a Silent Base 600, sitting on the floor under my desk.
At rest, inaudible, 30°C for T°ambient = 19°C.
Under load, still as inaudible (no change): 61°C for 75W of CPU consumption given by OCCT, strange considering the TDP supposed to be 65W, knowing that I don't have OC. Maybe an increase due to the OC of the 2400MHz -> 3200MHz RAM via DOCP?
In short, the noise and cooling levels are very good. On the other hand, the assembly is quite atrocious. I made the mistake of putting the motherboard in the case first before installing the fan: DO NOT DO THAT!
Place your motherboard on a non-conductive surface, mount the CPU, then the radiator and its fans, and finally place the whole thing in the case. Otherwise it's really difficult to mount the fan, I find. The metal rods don't clip easily, and more importantly, they tend to get loose when you put the fan in the radiator.
Also, remember to use low profile memory, otherwise the fan will conflict with it and you won't be able to install it.
I am entirely satisfied with the product itself, very imposing, but finally passes without having to dismantle the motherboard in a large tower case, but I do not put a higher note due to the fact that your services have refused the payment by CB and that I had to go through Paypal, which has considerably delayed my purchase! I have been a customer of yours for several years, you can easily check, and the next incident of this kind will certainly take me to Amazon! For information, I intend to buy a central unit in 800 €uros, we'll see what the "reputation" company that you pay to validate or not a purchase via credit card will say that day, and that the CNIL prohibits file comparisons, I have a premium account at Amazon and I have never suffered this kind of treatment! We do e-commerce or groceries, but you have to choose... These "reputation" companies are totally borderline and don't know (fortunately still!) what I buy with my credit card, nor where, so their opinion is debatable and harms you rather than anything else, that's what I think of my last purchase at Ldlc!
Mounted on a Ryzen7 3700x which does not warrant this level of cooling but. in anticipation of upgrading to a higher TDP processor at a later date.
Mounting is child's play, easier than a Noctua fan. The fans are quiet on a ROG STRIX B550-F. Perfect LDLC service as usual. Recommend without hesitation.
I don't understand people who say that installation is easy!
The bar doesn't clip easily between the ventirad and the brackets, by the time you find the right position, the ventirad has already slid all over the processor and is making thermal paste everywhere!
My processor does not exceed 60°C, whereas before I had peaks of 80°C with the original ventirad.
I switched from a very good Noctua to this one from Be Quiet! to get a black exterior and I'm delighted!
Everything has been thought out to make it easy to install without having to wring your hands in the case. And no worries about the RAM strips, although I always take low profile ones.
Easy to install, very good heat dissipation when you don't want to switch to watercooling.
The fan on most motherboards will protrude over the ram bar area, so you will need a small enough bar height, otherwise 2 of your slots will be more unusable.
This two-part fan unit, each cooled by a different fan, is well designed: it is strong, imposing, beautiful but above all efficient for the low noise it generates.
I wanted silence and low temperature no watercooling, this dark pro 4 and the answer 26 degrees while watching my 4k movie what more could I ask for, my 1st ventirad mount myself with the quick clear instructions everything is perfect I am satisfied
Positive points: 54 degrees at full load, 27 at idle (Ryzen 5 2600X).
Negative points: really cheap fan mounting system (I didn't expect scrap metal rods on an aircooler of this price), so big disappointment there. I would have preferred better quality fasteners instead of the CoolerMaster screwdriver.
I can't judge the noise level because a fan on my case makes a lot of noise. Under OCCT I don't notice any increase of the sound volume during the stress tests, so I deduce that it is rather quiet.
I have to remove the motherboard to mount the system, but considering its size it's understandable.
This product is really incredible in terms of performance, however, it is quite complicated to install. If you buy this product you will have to dismantle your system to install the ventirad.
The ventirad cools well or very well. It is super quiet.
I'm an assembly and gaming person and this ventirad is a great deal for everyone I think.
I am moving from a DR 3 to a DR pro 4 following my change of procedure.
Pure be quiet, nothing to complain about, silence and performance!
