A portable USB DAC with a retro design
The FiiO KA15 Noir is a portable DAC and headphone amplifier designed to enhance audio listening from a smartphone, tablet, computer, or compatible console. Compact and designed for on-the-go use, it lets you connect wired headphones via unbalanced and balanced outputs to enjoy high-resolution audio conversion in an easily portable format. The FiiO KA15 incorporates two CS43198 DACs paired with a balanced audio architecture. It supports streams up to 32 bits / 768 kHz as well as DSD512 files. Its unbalanced 3.5 mm mini-jack output delivers up to 560 mW into 32 ohms, while the balanced 4.4 mm jack output reaches 850 mW into 32 ohms in desktop mode. The signal-to-noise ratio is rated at 131 dB, with harmonic distortion below 0.00044 %. An integrated screen displays the volume level, the active mode, and the audio format currently being played.
Compatible with Windows, macOS, Android, and iOS environments, the FiiO KA15 works in plug & play mode via its USB-C connection. Its Desktop mode increases output power when powered by a suitable source, making it easier to use with higher-impedance headphones. The FiiO Control app provides access to various settings such as digital filters, gain control, or enabling UAC1.0 mode for compatibility with certain game consoles.
