This external USB sound card lets you addS/PDIF digital audio output and standard analogue 3.5 mm audio/microphone connections to your system via a USB port. It's a convenient way to bypass or replace an internal sound card without having to open the computer case.
For home theatre quality sound, the USB DAC offers 96 kHz/24-bit sampling rates for playback and recording, plus an optical S/PDIF port with support for Dolby Digital 5.1 Surround (AC3) and DTS ; intercommunication (Note: 5.1 surround sound supported on Windows only).
This versatile USB audio adapter has an integrated 3.5mm TRRS connection with 4 positions for your headphones or headphones and microphone combined. There's also a handy external volume control for quick adjustments, an EQ switch for bass and treble and an LED bar indicating sample rate.

Most basic accessories introduce a slight crackling or a dull noise during recording and this device makes it possible to adjust the recording volume. I would say it is practically better than my initial sound card for making tutorials.
The FIRMWARE available for download on the STARTECH site could not be installed by modifying the script I was able to install it, I warned STARTECH that it could close the incident because I had contacted them by email. No answer from them, probably offended that I had settled the incident myself, so the product had been received by LDLC but I ordered afterwards a REAL digital cable to connect JBL duo speakers to the PC, I asked by email to LDLC if this cable was mountable on the STARTECH's external sound card, no answer from LCDLC, in fact the cable is not mountable on the card although the card has a SPDIF output at the back but without an adaptor, I went back to the LDLC shop in Paris (the adapter is apparently unobtainable) and the cable is not mountable. I'm not sure what the problem is, but I'm sure it's a good one.
I ordered this product to have a sound card that could generate 5.1 via SPDIF. Few products were able to offer this feature. First purchase on LDLC and a Startech product. Nothing to say about the delivery and ordering at LDLC, very good.
I have to say that the product is capable of performing this task, but the connection is of very poor quality. I'm not sure if it's a good one or not, but it's a good one, and I'm not sure if it's a good one. I was very disappointed by this brand that I did not know. I was very disappointed with this brand, which I did not know.

I thought that these 2 negative points in less than 100 characters were enough...
The delivery was fast and in perfect condition!
I'm really not disappointed! The quality is excellent, you can change the sound rendering with the button on the side, for recordings of your voice, it's really perfect! I've been using it for a while now and it's really good for my ears.
