Very good laptop, but Lenovo gets the red card

No worries with the laptop itself: it's exactly what I wanted and great value for money with the LDLC promotion (bright 17" full hd screen, ryzen 7, 12gb ram, 512gb ssd, wifi 6).
No installation problems with Windows 11 included, it boots almost instantly (although I already had an ssd before).
No problem with LDLC either: good advice at the shop in Vienne and delivered quickly.
BUT LENOVO are to be commended for stating in the description of the laptop that it has a free internal slot for a 2.5" hdd/ssd without providing the cable to connect it, even though the cable is proprietary and essential. I had chosen this model precisely because it had this possibility of extension which was necessary for me, I had moreover bought a ssd 1 to 2,5" at the same time)...
What's worse, it's not even stocked on their site and the support person I contacted advised you to do a google search (yes, it's spelled out in the email I received from them) and didn't forget to mention that the warranty would be invalidated by its installation!
A bit like buying a car with a 500 dm3 boot but not being given the key to open it, and losing the warranty if you find a way to use it anyway ...
In the end I found the cable on another site (LDLC listed one but it was very expensive and there was no guarantee that it was the right model for my laptop).
So all in all, a very good laptop that also works very well with the added ssd, but I hope I'll never have to use Lenovo support.

Works flawlessly under Linux but without official Lenovo support

I chose this laptop because it's in the lower price range for a 17" + FHD configuration (apparently, these days, that only applies to high-end CPUs). I wasn't specifically aiming for a Ryzen 7; a more modest CPU would have sufficed.
I was able to install a recent Linux distribution on it and everything works without a hitch, without even having to run any kernel-specific options and without tinkering with anything else (and that's the first time I've seen that). I haven't even booted it under Windows, so I didn't accept the licence (which is a shame, because I paid for it anyway).
I "remapped" the special keys (Fn+Fxx) which are specific to Windows (in particular to have a sleep key).
For information, the wifi driver is rtw89_8852ae. Some sites or forums recommend certain options to be passed to the module to ensure better stability, but I haven't noticed any difference.
It performs well and is quiet. It starts up very quickly (especially the bios initialisation phase). The screen is very pleasant. By default, it boots when the cover is opened, but this can be disabled in the bios.
The keyboard isn't top-of-the-range, but it's nice all the same. I like the blue of the casing, but that's a matter of taste.
The only downside is that Lenovo doesn't officially support Linux on this laptop, which is a shame because it works perfectly. As a result, bios updates are not available in the LVFS database (except for the Secure Boot DBX signature database, which can be updated using fwupd). There is still the possibility of extracting the .cap from the Windows update binary available on the Lenovo site and flashing it using fwupdtool. I reserve this tinkering for critical updates.
In conclusion, a pleasant, high-performance laptop that runs under Linux without official support from Lenovo.

    An excellent laptop!

This computer has a remarkable technical specification for its price. I'm won over by the quality of its screen and its overall performance. I really like the connectivity and the card reader. I'm very happy with this device. I can't recommend it highly enough!
