Good product at a reasonable price
I chose this PC mainly for its well-stocked connectivity and its very good specification/price ratio.
Worth noting:
- There is a Bluetooth chip.
- It's true that clicking on the touchpad is a bit like it was in the 2000s, but it works well.
- I'm a bit surprised by the position of the + and - keys (above the VERR NUM), as well as the ENTER key on the numeric keypad, which is very small. It's going to take some getting used to.
Shortcomings:
- The 2 USB-C ports support charging, but only one supports video streaming (for connecting a screen). Strangely enough, powering the computer via my screen doesn't work, whereas it does on a PC from another brand, which is a shame.
- The Wi-Fi connection is disappointing: it gets much poorer reception than other laptops I have, and I'm going to have to install a Wi-Fi repeater when I didn't really need one for the other devices.
- The built-in speakers are really bad
- In terms of design and ergonomics, I don't really like the fact that the power button is buried in the keyboard.
Strengths:
- The chassis material is very pleasant
- Its compactness and weight (for a 15.6" PC), the fact that it doesn't heat up much, and the battery life make it a comfortable laptop for my taste
- Performance is good and the screen is quite attractive (with very effective anti-reflection)
- Good connectivity
- Excellent value for money
- Altyk is a European brand
