    BÉPO

It's very easy to use and well suited to writing in French. What's more, it doesn't require any installation accessories.

    Bepo keyboard

Standard quality keyboard except that the keys lack relief. I wanted to get into this new layout and I really like using it. I made the right choice.
It's well thought out and I got used to it in a few weeks.

    Good keyboard, I recommend it.

The BÉPO layout is not automatically recognised, but no keyboard is. The driver is easy to find on the Internet (bepo.fr) and even easier to install.
The layout of the keys is very different from that of the AZERTY, so there's bound to be some getting used to, but this is quickly compensated for by direct access to accented capitals, the capital Ç and other characters essential to the French language.
As for the keyboard itself, it's nice and light without sliding all over the place, and in the few weeks I've been using it almost daily, it hasn't yet fallen apart.

Patience and paracetamol will be needed

The keyboard itself is OK, but learning to type in the BEPO standard will take a long time, and give some headaches!
I think that after a few months of hard work, I might get some benefit (and pride) out of it.
P.S. I've put my old AZERTY keyboard back in for now, but I plan to get back to it.

Not yet properly implemented in Windows

I wanted to try the Bepo keyboard. I use Windows 11 in English, with, until now, an Azerty keyboard.

At the moment, Windows 11 does not have the Bepo layout. It is available in a development version, available for Windows insiders for 6 months, but still nothing on a normal Windows. I've looked hard.

So I had to install the driver by hand, and as expected, in my case it doesn't work well. I have to install the French language pack to avoid problems, but having two languages on Windows creates other problems that I don't need. It's poorly done and poorly thought out.

I tried it anyway to see, well the learning curve will be long! It's really very different from Azerty.

So I put the keyboard away until the Windows developers finally get around to it. It looks like there's no problem on Linux.
