This model is perfectly at ease with photography and video, offers a dual memory card slot, extensive wireless connectivity and an optimal grip. In this version, it comes with the standard 28-70mm f/3.5-5.6 OSS lens.
Even better performance
The 33-megapixel Exmor R full-frame CMOS sensor offers outstanding speed and superb image quality. It also offers improved colour reproduction, low noise at all sensitivities, a dynamic range of 15 stops for photography, and improved autofocus accuracy and focal stability.
The two BIONZ XR processors provide up to 8 times the processing speed. They will handle real-time autofocus processing, image recognition and image quality adjustments to minimise processing times, providing greatly improved processing power for video and still images.
Autofocus on 94% of the image
Combining Phase Detection and Contrast Detection, the fast Hybrid AF remains accurate even for small subjects or people against a dark background. With 759 phase-detection and 425 contrast-detection points, the large, dense AF area covers approximately 94% of the image area for both still images and movies.
In addition to humans and animals, the Eye AF Real Time function can now detect and track the eyes of birds in real time for both stills and movies.
Shoot like a pro
The α7 IV gives you an impressive range of video recording options. Full-pixel playback, without binning, allows for 4K 60p recordings, while 7K full-format upsampling allows for high-resolution 4K 30p movies with a high level of detail. 10-bit 4:2:2 video can be recorded on the camera, for more natural, fuller gradations with greater post-processing freedom. Meanwhile, the XAVC HS file format doubles the efficiency of MPEG-4 AVC/H.264 encoding.
Your creative equipment
The large, bright 3" touchscreen swivel LCD offers clear outdoor viewing, while the 3:2 aspect ratio makes efficient use of the display space. Meanwhile, the Quad-VGA OLED viewfinder offers high quality resolution with a 37.3° field of view and 23mm eye relief.
Finally, the dual media slots allow you to continue shooting even when one of the memory cards is full. One slot supports high-performance CFexpress Type A cards, and both accept UHS-I and UHS-II SDXC/SDHC cards.
