Excellent router that replaces my now bridge freebox.
I have installed the Merlin firmware which adds a few features and I have activated all the available security.
Installed a few days ago, everything works perfectly.
I would have liked to have a few more LAN ports so I wouldn't have to add a switch.
I recommend it.
I bought this router to manage a local network connected to 1 internet connection box orange play dl 8mb up 800kb. I was hoping to have a more stable ping during my games, in case of multiple network connections and/or high bandwidth consumption by other "clients". After reading the FAQ and trying different approaches QoS adaptive games, manual with prioritization of my machine and game packets, the result was not there and it was enough to calm the ardor of the other "clients" to find stability. I will contact an ASUS technician from time to time... and I remain on an average note of hope...
I bought it about three months ago to replace an Airport Extreme which was excellent.
I think it's really ugly but other than that it's great.
It easily beats the Extreme in distance and throughput.
It's easy to set up and configure (Mac) and it worked perfectly for three months without a single problem. Nothing else to say
