The ASUS Extender app provides a simple and intuitive way to set up the RP-AC53, but if you wish, you can use the WPS buttons on the RP-AC53 and your router to perform an automatic and instant setup. Performance optimization is provided to ensure a smooth and consistent Internet experience. For advanced settings, you can connect the RP-AC53 to a computer via a network cable and access the online configuration menu directly. To achieve the best performance, the RP-AC53 needs to be within range of a strong and stable router signal, and it should be placed between the router and the location where you need the best wireless coverage - you can check this simply by using the LED signal strength indicator on the front panel. |
Repeater, access point and 3-in-1 media gateway modesThe RP-AC53 has three convenient modes that make it even more versatile. In addition to acting as a repeater, it can also function as a wireless access point (AP) or media gateway. In Access Point mode, it can be connected to a wired LAN - for example, an Internet connection in a hotel - to create a Wi-Fi hotspot allowing the Internet connection to be accessed from laptops, phones or other Wi-Fi devices. In Media Gateway mode, it can be connected to any Ethernet-enabled device - such as a Smart TV, media player, game console or computer - to provide Wi-Fi capability.
