The 290 Xtra is a 3-section tripod, the largest in the 290 range, with aluminium leg tubes and an aluminium top casting to improve rigidity, durability and performance. The aluminium leg locking handles are adjustable in tension and can therefore be tightened to counteract the effects of wear and tear and loads, making the tripod fully operational throughout its long life. The main feature of the tripod is the possibility to choose between 4 possible positions for the angle between the legs, which maximises creativity when shooting. Its fast centre column increases the flexibility of the tripod by widening the min-max height range. A new rubber hand warmer grip ensures a comfortable grip and maximum ergonomics. The tripod is sold with a dedicated shoulder bag, which ensures comfortable transport at all times.

The new 290 Xtra is sold in a kit that also includes the new version of the 804 3D photo head with quick release plate, with special attention paid to its compactness and transportability. This patented head guarantees precise framing and robust support for medium-weight photo and video equipment. The main feature of the new head is its retractable handles that can be folded away when not in use, making it even more compact and portable. The redesigned ergonomic handles are made of a special rubber, allowing a better grip. The 3D head is made of Adapto, an extremely lightweight polymer that makes the head lightweight while ensuring high mechanical strength for a sturdy stand.

    The tripod is of good quality, it is very tall, for the adjustments of balance at the level of the head a little complicated especially for those who like precision because the tightening is rather complicated it is necessary to tighten to the maximum and during the tightening it tends to move it is necessary to be really patient.
